@@kenhoever8245 it's a thin Latex type thread used in the clothing industry. I buy it from a local craft shop that sells everything sewing related. Hope you come right.

Hi CGC, glad you enjoyed the video! Where in the wonderful world of fishing are you based? I started tying bucktails after watching KZfaq videos and then made a few new ideas along my path! The thread I use as the base layer is sourced from a local craft / hobby shop. It is a latex thread, very similar to latex bait tying cotton, but slightly thicker and much stronger. I'm told it is used in needlework where some elasticity is required in the stitch work?? Regards, Brett

@@trophytails HI Brett, I live in Michigan, USA. I like the idea of sparing the expensive thread so I will do some hunting around. Maybe at a quilting shop. They might have something that fits the bill. Is it elastic or no stretch at all?

Hi Brett, So, would this be the latex Cotton Pro? If so, what thickness and what is a standard spool size that will fit a bobbin?

@@cgc6761 Not the same material, but looks and feels the same as the thickest bait cotton. You will not find the material in the fishing industry wholesale / retail. I own a tackle store and have never seen it listed. It is used in needle work. I purchase mine from an arts and crafts shop which has a huge supply of yarns, threads, cottons and the likes.

Hi Albert, the flair is quite slight on these Minnow Heads, I tied some Smiley Heads recently and wow, they flair! The flair is quite popular in our local waters, especially when chasing Garrick in our rough winter seas.
