These are the chords for the entire song. There are a lot of them, but they're worth learning. It's one of the best chord progression songs the Beatles ever wrote, IMO. Hope it's helpful.

Wow, I love this song. Paul was such an absoulute genious on piano. He forever changed the course of music when he embraced it. Some of his greatest work (Let It Be, Hey Jude, You Never Give Me Your Money etc.) were centered around it. He was such an amazing musician. Just brilliant. Thanks for the video on this beautiful song.

PianoJohn, I agree that this song has some of the best chord progressions the Beatles ever did. I think it's one of the best songs Paul ever wrote and doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

You have done an enormous service to humanity with these. I think it’s almost of no coincidence that their best song happens to be the tutorial you explain in-depth the least! I remember years ago when I could not keep up with any of this video. Part of the magical challenge of it all I guess. Anyways, I’m almost through this and I am so grateful. Thank you! Also, the guitar licks before the “one sweet dream” when played on piano are kind of reminiscent of rhapsody in blue… just another really cool thing about the greatest song of all time I guess. Cheers!

+Andrew Wian They had all day and all night to work on it. I'm sure even when they weren't in the studio, they were working on their songs. But just to get the idea; that's amazing in itself. Best song on Abbey Road, though, you can't listen to it without wanting to hear everything else on the record. Can't believe this album got the beat out of the Album of the Year in '70 by Blood, Sweat, and Tears; has anyone listened to that album lately? Probably not.

completely agreed. I'm an okay piano player and I'm STRUGGLING with this... let alone being able to write something like this. Makes the whole "stones vs beatles" argument look really stupid.

Came out of Paul's frustration about the Beatles losing money and with the bubble about to burst , well actually Paul just burst it himself.
@carlosvelasquez32795 жыл бұрын
@@urwholefamilydied is mostly the stones fans trying to make it like a rivalry, but there's none of that, the Beatles were just the guys to follow in the 60's , in the 70's without the Beatles there were many great bands at the same level and still behind the stones that have made it because is the only band that never quits.

And whenever anyone argues with me about who's better the stones or the beatles I just tell them to listen to Abby Road. The greatest beatles record as it showed how a rock band matured into an unstoppable force ... but we know what happened after that.

I recently saw a special on the Beatles (I believe it was 60 Minutes). In it, Paul McCartney said that none of the Beatles could read or write sheet music. Simply amazing, given the music that they made.

You had me psyched ther for a minute there. After listening to the Beatles version I kept playing the boogie woogie bridge over and over because of the piano part (sounds like a player piano). Then I saw in your video you were going to demonstrate it on the piano...but you left out the whole right hand part (approximately 1:30) and bummed me out!

But I would apreciate in this one, you show the notes, as I'm self learning, and my theory knowledges are minimum, so when yoy say E7, I have to check what the hell notes I have to play! Thanks for your reply. Looks like all the Beatle songs, (Paul's) are tricky. I never thought of him being that accomplished on piano, always bass or guitar. I suppose if you have been playing any instruments for a long time, it's easy for the person. Like a keyboard player who knows no guitar would say it's hard. I'm definitely going to try to master some piano. Thanks again!

In the "out of collage money spent" part the right hand does stuff other than just the walking baseline, but in the mix it's mostly drowned out by the other instruments. You have to mess with the speed and the equilizer to figure out how to play it

Here are the notes in the intro chords... As best as I could see them. I put a comma between the left and right hand notes. As a layman trying to learn to play, I thought this might be helpful. Am7. A A , G A C E Dm7. D , F A C E G7. G , F G B D C. C , G C F (and then) C G , C E G C Fmaj7. F , E F A C Bm7b5. B , B D F A E7. E E , Ab B D E Ab Am7. A A , G A C E

Hi, pianojohn. Your tutorials are my go-to videos for all the Beatles's songs. I haven't seen one video that had any glaring error. I do have one little comment on this one though: on the "see no future, pay no rent" boogie-woogie part, try as I may, I can't hear any Am - Gm7 - C7 succession, there's only Am - C7, or could be Am - Gm/C. Even the bass goes walking from A to C, no G. Could you maybe break that part down so we'll know what the chords are? Other than this, ALL your videos are topnotch and all we need to learn piano!
