Hello guys, this is Clay KM.
This time, I made tutorial video how to make a face without mold.
Many subscribers have asked how to make a face.
Air dry clay is not suitable for modeling.
But you can make a face with your own hands, so I'm sharing the video.
First of all, the face in this video is not a perfect finished product.
This is a face I made as quickly as possible to show you a video without editing from start to finish. If you normally make a face, it will take more than 30 minutes. (6 minutes in the video)
The second easiest and best way is to purchase a mold. But I know that there are many countries where it is not easy to buy a mold.
Third, it is also a good way to sculpt a face using professional materials such as sculpey and make a mold with that face.
I hope that you can create the face you want through a lot of practice and challenge based on the method of the video.

Depending on the height of the nose and the volume of the cheeks, the impression of the face changes a lot. 코의 높이와 볼의 볼륨에 따라 얼굴의 인상이 많이 달라집니다. 鼻の高さや頬のボリュームによって、顔の印象が変わってきます。 La apariencia facial cambia dependiendo de la altura de la nariz o el volumen de la mejilla.

I use sculpey clay to make a mould of a face from one of my anime figures (eg a nendoroid), or one of my dolls such as a chibi Elsa. Then I use that to create the initial faces, modifying them as I want. For the eyes I use water slide decals. But I am trying to do things the craft way now, especially as the eyes are often unique to a character and cannot be found on stock water slide decals. Thanks for the tutorial and all the great work that you have shared with us!

What temperature to bake the model and how much time until it solidifies? What paint do you use?

@@BentoBoxBobbyTV 130 C in a fan oven. I have an airbrush and use mostly Vallejo or Liquidtex acrylic paints. I also use inktense pencils. Mr Super Clear between coats. But if the eyes are not super complicated I can make them completely out of coloured clay (Fimo).

@@nparsona thanks so much that was a super quick response. I was expecting a week but thank you so much. I wrote this all down. Need to see if most this stuff is on Michael’s to buy with a coupon. I saw this creation on instagram by a different user from the Philippines but did not get an answer. Thank you thank you thank you. My 30 year question scraped up in my mind has finally unlocked.

For the eyes one user said water slide decals could be used. I might look into that.

오랜만에 댓글을 답니다! 꽁망님께서 만드시는 방법대로 일반 피규어 얼굴도 만들수있을진 모르겠지만 힘내볼게요! 요새 머리카락만 만들다보니 머리카락 퀄리티만 높아지네요ㅜㅜ

Should I use like a foil ball inside the head and body to give the sculpture more support and so I can use less clay and save more of it?

you're right. But depending on the type of clay it can be good or bad. The color clay ( air dry clay ) I use is cheap, so I don't recommend it to save clay. Color clay looks nice when the desired shape is made into one chunk. However, in the case of sculpey or stone clay, it can be a good option.

I am using air dry clay which name is 'i clay' from South Korea. You can use 'super light clay' on Amazon.com. This color clay is very cheap, so it is a very good material once you get used to it. It would be good to start with simple rather than complex shapes and get used to it.

I have two questions for you: one how do you outline the eyes to make sure they're in proportion on the face And two are you using acrylic paint to paint the eyes or are you using clay? If paint then how are you painting it on, before it dries or after

- Drawing eyes according to the proportions of the face is something that many people point out to me as I am still very inexperienced. - After the clay has completely hardened, draw a sketch with a pencil and draw with acrylic paint.

눈코입은 어떡해요?

코는 뾰족하게 만든 부위 그대로 이용하고 눈과 입은 모두 아크릴 물감으로 그리고 있어요. 눈은 데칼을 제작해서 붙이는 분들 , 클레이로 모두 만드는 분들 다양하게 있어요. 눈 그리는 부분은 저도 기본 30분 이상에 1시간이 넘게 걸리기도허요 영상으로 담지 못하고 있어요
