Hey Bob, thanks so much for the review! It's very good to know it's working so well for you. I became interested in the TUTORO after watching another video... I opted for the Adventure Kit even to give myself the maximum range of mounting options and a second bottle of oil. It shipped to me in Canada without incident. I completed my installation on my '99 Suzuki Bandit 1200S a few days ago and I'm looking forward to an automatically lubricated chain. I don't think it's in the manual so I will add that it's a good idea to give your chain a thorough cleaning before you prime the system and put it into use. Much appreciated!

Hey grosbeakmc, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I hope by now you've had a chance to see the tutoro work? I totally agree, and I forgot to include this in my video, as you said it's a great idea to give the chain a good clean.

I installed one of these on a 2006 sv650 I used for a daily rider. It worked flawlessly for over a 100,000 miles. Not once did it leave any oil spots in my garage. It takes very little oil to keep the chain wet and definitely cuts down on chain wear. Later I installed one on an fz6 and it worked great for while then quit. For the life of me i couldn't figure what was wrong, its a super simple design. I just took it off and started using aerosol chain lube as i dont commute by bike anymore. If you ride daily and dont have bike with a center stand its worth a shot .

It certainly works well & I've not had any issues with it (so far)

bob thanks for this review very helpful, not sure if you still read these comments. If you had the chance to buy a scottoiler E system that works off the battery or this Tutoro system here for the same price which would you go for? Cheers

Hi Kieran, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I looked at both the Scottoiler V and E systems as well as the Tutoro. The reason I opted for the Tutoro was simple. It's a simpler system to install, doesn't require power from the battery or cutting into the bikes vacuum pressure system and because it's purely using gravity and the bikes natural vibration works every time. I would recommend the Tutoro every single time, the only thing you need to do is remember to check the oil reservoir - that's it!

@@robchisholm72 Thanks Bob, Yes it does seem a simple full proof system. The only thing that concerns me is the potential for over delivery of oil? Surely off road the Tutoro requires adjusting and then readjusting when back on the road? Or have you found the oil to always be spot on

Hi Willie, go for it! I've now sold mine, but the VFR800X is a stonking and practicle bike.

Thanks. Yes it's definitely Bob's old bike on the videos. The headlight protector and yellow tape is still on it also. Bought it from Motorad BMW dealer in Dalkeith Trade sales department.

Have to agree, lovely piece of kit to look at. Though, it would have been better with a C clip to fit to the frame and the adhesive tabs are not the best. Also, I found it tricky to get the flow just right.. but it's better than cutting into the bike system.

Hi Paul, thanks for your time not only watching the video but leaving a comment. Regardless of manufacturer, all chain oilers need fine fettling to get the flow rate right, and yes that is a bit of a faff. Personally I've found it a far simpler and easier system than any electrical or vacuum managed system on the market. The trick I've found with any adhesive tabs is to completely clean the surface before hand, I've found brake cleaner is the best but you've got to make sure the cleaner is completely removed before applying the adhesive pad.

Hello Bob. I've only just discovered your channel whilst searching for reviews on the Tutoro oiler. I have a 2019 Crossrunner and your vid explained perfectly where it would fit. One question please. What size bolt did you use to fix the bracket to the rear foot peg holder. Many thanks.

Hi Jim, thanks for finding the channel and watching. I'm glad it has helped you, this is the reason I've done it. Sorry for delay in replying, I work away and only just seen your comment. For this, please accept my apologies. I used a small bolt that came with the tutoro kit, this fits perfectly into the threaded pannier rubber mounting point.

Hi, Since you have been using it for quite time I wonder does it really stop when you're not moving? I don't want to spoil my driveway that is why I want to know. Moreover I own a Multistrada 1260 and I wonder if vibrations from the engine could activate oiling. Finally, do you think adjustments might be necessary during a trip? (during my last trips to alps temperatures varied from 11 to 34 degrees).

Hi Piotr Karlik, thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment. The system uses the vibration of the engine and suspension to open the valve that allows oil to travel down the pipe. So yes the engine vibration will activate the oiling. If you have the tap open too far, then yes, you will get oil on your drive but when you set the system you should only have one or two drops of oil leaving the pipe per minute. During extreme temperature changes, it is worth checking the system, In the Summer (20c and above) I turn the flow tap down so less oil comes through, during the Winter I turn the flow tap up so more oil comes through. You'll know if you have the flow tap set to high as you'll see oil splatter on the back of your registration plate. I hope this helps & answers your questions. If you have any further questions or want some further clarification, please feel free to message me. Safe riding and thanks again.

@@robchisholm72 Thanks for the review Bob, just a quick steer in the right direction 🙂 - the Auto unit does not work from vibration, its designed not to react to engine vibrations at all. The patented valve system reacts to the motorcycle's suspension rebound - for this reason it only works when the bike is actually moving along the road. If you are stationary for any reason the oiler unit is off. All the best, Tutoro

I just bought one for my NC750X but there is nowhere to mount it so it has to be returned.

Have you tried mounting it to the back of the rear pillion peg where the panier support bracket is? That's where I mounted mine for the VFR800X.

The electric Scottoiler doesn't make a puddle when you sit at the traffic lights also it puts oil on both sides of the chain 😁

Hi Tube Fails, thanks for watching and taking time to leave a few words. The bike I used which had an electric scottoiler fitted, did leak when stationary, now there may have been something wrong with that system or it wasn't set up correctly. Are you refering to Scottoiler's 'Scorpion Duel Injector'? If so, when I had a Vacuum system Scottoiler fitted to my old Honda Transalp, the 'Scorpion Duel Injector' was an accessory and not part of the kit. I fitted one, and found it simply placed extra lubricating oil on the backside of the rear sprocket. Anyway, as I've said, thanks for watching and leaving a few words. Happy riding & keep rubber side down.
