Me and my friend used to override radio stations in our town all the time he had a box that would take over the frequency or play over it I can’t really remember how it worked, but he was a really tech savvy guy and it was always hilarious, we never played anything vulgar but we always put on the complete opposite music the station would usually play. Sometimes we even wrote a script and would host the show but laugh the whole time throughout. You’d be surprised how easy it is since radios have almost zero protection

This isn't super well known outside the community, but furries who support harmful stuff are blacklisted from most fandom spaces. Because of this, there's an offshoot of the fandom completely comprised of people who are mad they got caught. Furries who put others in danger are not a part of the fandom. They're an outcast.

Exactly. I myself am a minor (for a few more months but whatever lmao) and also asexual. Most of the furries I see on social media are minors, apart from those I’m actually friends with. We’re not sexually perverted freaks, we just cosplay in different ways than traditional cosplaying. I’ve had to stop watching a ton of KZfaqrs because they make me feel like shit for expressing myself through the art of anthro animals. We always get lumped in with the creeps, but we’re not.

i remember when i first started watching tuv, it was in school, and it was the tv hijacks video. Seeing this video now brings me back to when i was watching the tv hijacks, at a table in the back of my classroom, with headphones on, watching an ipad while working on my maths work. I wish i could relieve that moment again. That feeling was so comforting. sorry if i sound weird, but i really mean it when i say you are my comfort youtuber. Ironically Disney is quoted as being the inspiration for furries. Robin Hood had a lot to do with anthros and furrys showing up later on.

That "mysterious" Russian station is called UVB76. It is believed to have started transmitting around 1977-1982. Also in 2011 that was the time urbex explorers explored the old site near Moscow, and that's why people were shocked when they heard footsteps and knocks on the freq. Also UVB has 4 transmission locations but only 1 is still working. The one still working is in St. Petersburg

One of the most notorious radio stations for hijackings is WKCR-FM 89.9, which has been taken over not once, not twice, but four times. One of the most known incident occurred in 2020 when a man crying filled the radio, three days until the station finally regained control. Another notable hijacking took place years ago, around 5-6 years ago, which I still remember vividly. It began with unsettling music and a terrifying screech that scared the hell out of me, I'm fascinated by its the unsettling nature of these hijackings.

Question for the furries in these comments: would you all hate me if I told you I’m scared of furries? Like I don’t have a problem with furries expressing themselves as long as it isn’t directly harming anyone else, but I’m genuinely frightened by furries. I think people in full body costumes like the fur suits just freak me out, like I could see a Disneyland employee in a Mickey Mouse costume and I would be scared. Am I an asshole for this?

I feel the need to point out that for most people in the furry fandom, it's NOT about sex. it's perfectly innocent and just a bit of fun. of course, some people do engage with it in a sexual way, but they're kinda seperate from the others who don't. as a furry, i apologize on behalf of everyone else. i promise not all of us are like that. while i do think its okay for nsfw activities between two consenting adults, animals is a whole different story. the majority of us try our best to exclude any and all of those types of people or "zoophiles" from our spaces.

I fully understand. Because as I said in a couple of replies referring to this whole thing that was being discussed in the video. I have friends both online and IRL that are furries and outright despise those that commit harm to animals. They don't claim those people. If it's between two consenting adults it's fine but if it's that zoophile and cub art stuff. (Which is very disgusting btw) My friends who are furries and I as well nope the hell out of it once we hear or see stuff like this. My condolences to anyone that is a good person and the OP that may have encountered hate from others because of what other people did in the community in the past. It really sucks and it must be very hard to deal with.

And I agree that zoophiles and other such vocal degenerates of the furry community should never ever be roped into the rest of us who merely use it as a tool of escape and to meet people. My apologies to anyone who's met a furry who promotes such activities.

those kinds of people arent even furries, they're just nasty people that have pushed their way into a community thats mostly about cartoons. most furries are just kids that like drawing animal characters and people that like making costumes and art projects and whatnot. its really gross that those kinds of people are comfortable with doing things like that and then hiding behind a child-friendly title, it makes them even more disgusting. (and this applies to things other than furries- creepy people are always making their way into everything)

Malmö is located in Sweden and NOT Australia 😅 Also, the Mix Megapol hijack in question has been more or less debunked later on. The only source for the supposed "hijack" was a video by someone sitting in their car and hearing the ISIS song on the radio, which went viral here in Sweden when this became a news story.

As someone who listens to shortwave radio semi often, UVB 76 getting hijacked happens pretty often and it's certainly a sight if you're flipping through stations blindly. At one point in late 2023 someone streamed themselves worming their way onto the stations frequencies and playing music. I only found out about the stream context because of the chat feature on the site I used being full of people mentioning it.

I’ve lived in a handful of states and become familiar with a dozen or so local stations. What a joy to hear sunny 107.9, personally I immediately heard the little jingle in my head lol. Although I didn’t live there at the time, it’s a semi-shocker that I haven’t heard about it from random folks.

yo tuv, great vid as always. next time you're on vacation, know that you don't need to upload, we can wait. i'd advise against taking time away from your vacation to please us, you matter too! if you feel the need to upload, perhaps you could make one or two videos about misc topics that can be uploaded at any point without losing irrelevance, and upload them while you're on vacation. it's better than recording and editing while you're supposed to be taking a break imo, just make 'em, schedule them whenever necessary, and forget about them until you're back from vacation.

Yep that story is definitely Sweden. There is no "Malmö" in Australia and Mix Megapol are a Swedish company. And given the reputation and growing demographic Malmö has, that kind of broadcast sadly isn't much of a surprise.
