A friend of mine just gifted me a full bottle of Moustache EDP so I have them both now. Moustache is what I would wear to work or anything casual. To me, Moustache is jeans and a hoodie, hitting the sports bar type frag. Tuxedo is when I'm out with the lady or dressed up a event. Glad to have them both.

Here’s something most people won’t tell you. Moustache is actually not a dupe of Tuxedo. People just compare it to Tuxedo. Moustache actually came out before Tuxedo. Just clearing up any confusion. *Edit* Cause some of y’all are making a big deal over something that isn’t even the point. So I took it out to keep on focus of the point I was actually trying to make.

I guess I never saw Moustache as a dupe. I think the fragrance community created that monster. Notes are different and Moustache does it’s own thing. There’s a reason why they rank similarly on Fragrantica. Thx for the breakdown. :)

Tuxedo is a masterpiece. I don’t know if the sweets ‘Parma Violets’ are sold in America, but I think Tux smells like a refined version of those with a slight nice booziness.

for me moustache starts off like Dior Homme intense or Valentino Uomo intense and in the dry down you have some of that mysterious Dior Fahrenheit darkness. Compliments galore!

Never smelled Tuxedo before Moustache review. I have Moustache on right now for the first time. 5 hours in. For me, the opening and mid in the air was very good. Like, dammnn. It felt romantic, cozy, understated, elegant like sitting by a fire in a blanket with your lover. The dry down... it straight up turns into a skin scent VERY fast. And just like Melissa said, when smelt directly off skin/shirt it has a hint of burnt secondhand smoke. Just a hint. That faint dirtiness is a characteristic of Moustache that not enough people bring up. Still sexy, still A LOT to like here, but a smidge rough - like a man with a mustache lol Performance: this scent needs to be over-sprayed on clothes to make it even worth putting on IMO My final verdict: Tom Ford Oud Wood smells like a $300 fragrance to me. This does not. but for $35 bucks (what i paid for 75 ml) simply put, it's incredible. Possibly the best date night cheapy of all time. Very happy I picked it up. I imagine Tuxedo must be very nice if it's Moustache but improved/refined.

Honestly, I found it much harder to find Moustache than Tuxedo here in Canada, so that's the one I went with in the end lol.

Moustache lasts 8+ on me. The main difference is the opening is different, dry down of moustache is sweeter and lightly smokey, tuxedo is smoother but dry on the dry down. They become similar in the mid to dry down but what the reviewer forget to test was the scent trail, in the air you won't be able to tell the difference, you didn't just base on your nose close to the skin, that's not how it works for many fragrances. For 40 dollars you don't have to think of tuxedo. Tuxedo is good and if you can afford it then get it but if you are considering getting just because don't bother, get Moustache instead, it's way too similar to justify huge price difference and you'll get good performance, maybe the reviewer's skin chemistry doesn't work with it but to my knowledge and from plenty of people if the frag community they have no issues with performance. Also be warned it's becoming extremely difficult to find Moustache EDP in discounters and the price is going up fast so if you already tried and still on the fence to pulling the trigger you might miss the opportunity or buy it at very high price.

For me Moustache EDP 99.9%. similar to Tuxedo. The biggest shock i got when i sprayed Tom Ford Ombre Leather on my hand and left the store,it smelled like Moustache EDP . Who has similar experience TF Ombre Leather? In the air i think i would confuse both

Is that Moustache EDT or EDP? I heard the EDT isn’t really good at all. The EDP is the one compared to Tuxedo. The tint looks light so it may be the EDT.

I first tried Moustache, and i didn’t like it, and my mistake was thinking that I didn’t was going to like Tuxedo because of that. After a year i decided to try Tuxedo and it really was a completely different thing, to the point that nowadays i consider it my favourite and signature fragance. I have clones that improve the originals but imo this is not the case

I finally got my Tuxedo ! Definitely my kind of cologne, Boozy, Leather and nice scent !!! Im not even gonna bother with the dupe !

I have Tuxedo 250ml, it spray ALOT and it barely last 3 hours !! Just poor preformance even though I am in love with it. Might as well try Moustache maybe it will last longer with fewer sprays according to the comments.

The one edp and light blue intense edp are so popular in western. After i bought 2ml tester for both of them, their smell instantly remind me the candle or cheap car perfume, or the toilet cleaner.....like lavender, amber and lemon scent.... propably will get a moustache maybe...

Tuxedo Or Layton which would you prefer?

In other words, Moustache doesn't have the rock 'n' roll in it. You can play all the notes like a virtuoso can but if you don't have the attitude to play one note, it will always be hollow

While they're similar definitely not the same. Have you tried Dua Tux by chance? There's also hybrids of their Tux such as my favorite Gone Swimming in a Tux which is Louis Vuitton "Afternoon Swim" and YSL "Tuxedo" blended together. From what I've seen so far it looks like the limited edition YSL Tuxedo will be very limited and of course hella expensive.

Never try Tuxedo, but Moustache is very weak . Projection is really low,you must put nose on skin to smell it after hour. Maybe 3 cm of skin .....

Mustache has been out far longer than Tuxedo. They don't even have the same notes, but I do like your review. If you paid $40 for 100 ml, you must have the original EDP, called Moustache 1949.

I have not smelled Tuxedo, but I dont get the hype with Moustache. I ordered a full bottle of Moustache and for me it was the most boring old fashioned scent I had purchased.. I gave it some time to see if I would change my mind but it was such a depressing boring smell, its the only bottle I have just given away for free. 🤷‍♂

I have Moustache EDP and I say it smells like smoky bubblegum. The drydown is the best part, but the projection is gone at that point.

I bought into the hype and got Moustache and you're right, it only lasted on my skin for less than an hour and didn't like it. The Tuxedo clone from Dua (Tux) smells better and lasts longer. Booooooo!!

No clone or alternative is exactly like the original. I’m curious to smell them from time to time. But I would stick with the originals. (Except Aventus, there are too many clones/step children already. 😂😂😂)

If you didn't know Tuxedo existed and bought Moustache EDP. You'll be over the moon. Don't listen to this woman, she obviously doesn't know what she's talking about. I mean this with all due respect, if you can't smell the similarities between Moustache EDP and Tuxedo. You need to get your nose checked. There is no objective reason to recommend Tuxedo over Moustache. Its only a little smoother in its composition and you're paying for the brand. The mammoth price difference between the two is unjustifiable. This woman probably has the money to fork out for Tuxedo. If you value your money, get Moustache instead. Save your money and only follow youtubers who want to get you the best bang for your buck.
