In this video I'm doing an unboxing and installation of this Tuya Smart door lock. I also demonstrate the 6 different methods of opening this smart door towards the end.
The tuya smart lock features are complete. It can be opened using a mechanical key, IC card, remote dynamic passcode, fingerprint, or through remote unlocking via the tuya smart app in your android or iOS devices. It is made of zinc alloy and powered by 4xAAA battery that could last up to one year, depending on your usage. This tuya smart lock module is waterproof and can be installed in any standard wooden swing door. It can also be integrated into a smart home alarm system using the tuya smartlife app.

Cool stuff. Is there any issues or difficulties you encountered when installing the product? Im planning to upgrade from an old fashioned door knob to smart door locking system. That's what Ive been looking forward to install. Hehe. Thanks ya

It comes with an English manual and there”s an instruction there how to reverse the handle depending on your door”s position or opening. It also comes with a cutting temple so if you know how to use a chisel and a drill, installation could be very easy.

Hi, when you say auto lock means the 2 bolts cant be move inside, right? Cause mine right now, anyone from the outside can open as long as they turn the handle upward because the big bolt is always inside

The big bolt (deadbolt) stays inside the mortise even it’s set to autolock . It will only come out when you raise the handle. If the door lock is on free passage mode , anyone can open the door from the outside

There's no option to mute the lock. I seldom unlock the device from the outside since there's always someone in the house. It's been 10 months since I installed this lock and used 4 energizer batteries. (half full based on the tuya smart app)

Yeah but you need to physically disable the speaker since there’s no option in the app to mute it.

As many as you like . I installed the lock in our main door and planning to add more soon. In the Tuya smart app app you can add smart devices individually or by batch.

Hey there great video but I have a question; when I try to lock by moving the exterior handle upwards, it doesn't lock; plus when I lock from the inside (by moving the interior handle up- which works), I can just open the lock from outside without inputting password or anything... @dara1076 your lock is probably different from the one I’m using coz in the inside portion there’s only one button which is use to allow or disallow users and only the admin can open the door when the button is raised

There’s only only one button from the inside that will presumably activate the deadbolt but it seems useless since the door lock can always be opened from the outside using any of your authorized method

How much does the battery lasts in one of these? Can you leave for 1 month for example and be sure that the door has battery when you get back?

The battery lasts for almost a year depending on the usage . If your gonna use it everyday , if I’m not mistaken it will only last up to 6 months .

It seems your door thickness is less than it's required. How you manage to install that?

The door must be 2 inches thick, it has all the instructions and cutting template inside the box

This can’t be possible because the lock was designed to automatically lock the door within 5 seconds after unlocking it. It was probably designed with the goal of securing the house or office all the time. You can only open the door all the time if you’re inside. The outside handle may move but once’s locked, you can’t possibly enter without doing any of the unlocking method or option .

Either the indicator is not accurate or low power consumption Lang talaga ang lock . Once or twice a week lang kasi nagagamit pag walang tao sa bahay. Full parin ang naka indicate sa app.

Press *#, touch the fingerprint panel to register your fingerprint as the admin, press 1 for admin, press 3 for network , press 1 for wifi configuration , it should appear in your Tuya or smart life app.

The door automatically locks within 5 seconds after unlocking. If you lift the handle , the deadbolt that serves as a secondary lock will be engaged for added security

@@JerroldEllo my old lock doesn't allow you to lift the handle. So I need s lock that you can lift the handle. And I don't know how to ask for it. No-one in my country knows such mechanism. Here in Greece you have to turn the key to our three times to activate the deadbolt

What's the difference between Tuya-BlueTooth and Tuya-Wifi? Can they both still be remotely controlled?

You can connect your lock directly to your wifi network if it’s WiFi ready. If it’s Bluetooth only , you need to be near your lock in order to unlock it or set passcode . You can still use the Bluetooth only device remotely if you buy a separate hub that can connect to your home network.

I installed this lock in our main door. The screen door has an automatic door closer. The smart door lock also closes / locks automatically within 5 seconds after you trigger the unlock option

Hello sir, just bought a tuya door lock Just like this and I'm having a problem because it won't automatically lock. Eveytime I twist the lever it always unlocks and even if it says door is locked it still unlocks. Is there a problem with the mechanism on mine?

Only the double / deadbolt lock should move, the small one stays in place . When it says locked the small one will not move supposedly . The lock comes with 2 versions btw. The free access with the new version will always keep the door unlocked unless you intentionally lock it. If the one you got is similar to mine that auto locks within seconds, check the mortise and the center pole that connects the 2 panels

Deadlock / deadbolt is just a double lock to secure your house / property. When the door is unlocked the deadlock will return to the mortise /lock mechanism

pwede po bang scheduled lang ang autolock after 5 seconds on s specific time lang - like sa gabi lang. Then during morning ay disabled ang lock nya, so pwede na mag labas pasok without finger print , pin etc.?

Sorry it’s not possible with this lock. Auto lock after 5 sec all the time and can’t be altered even with the app.

If it’s a Tuya Smart Door , you might have bought the new version in which you can set it to unlock at all times. Pls see the documentation and change the settings to automatically lock the door within 5 seconds after unlocking

If we are using the same lock you can press 5# after unlocking and the free passage mode will be enabled . If you touch the fingerprint panel or use other unlocking mode, the auto lock feature will be enabled

Yes may drilling template naman malalaman mo saan bubutasan. You need a drill to do the job. Need to do an extra cut sa side panel kasi malapad ang lock mechanism

This is powered by 4 x AAA, low power consumption and will last up to 12 months according to the manual. You will be alerted by the door with its red light indicator pag low bat and you will be notified by the app if nag install ka sa phone. In case drain out ang bat, make sure to have the manual key , nasa baba ang keyhole . Ang USB port para lng dun sa rechargeable version.

@Milenio Sam Tañala yes , ang manual key pag low bat, pero meron low bat indicator ang door pati sa smart life app or Tuya smart app so you can replace the battery before that happens.

Ano po gamit mo na battery sir? Akin kasi ginamitan ko ng energizer battery pero mga 3 months lang ang tagal.

@@xrainblake5525 full parin energizer after 3 months. Depende parin cguro sa gamit. Lagi kasi may tao dito sa bahay kaya minsan lang nabubuksan ang door from the outside. Standby mode lang most of the time

You just need to make sure your door is 2 inches thick to install the lock

You can add the lock to these centralized app but you cannot lock or unlock the door so it’s basically useless

@@JerroldEllo pano ba yung set up sa likod. hindi tlga mag function ung lock. Sa manual kc sabi may i turn na 180 degrees.. di naman namiin ma turn.
