Dukes of Hazzard also spun off a Cartoon simply called, The Dukes.

Just The Ten Of Us was a spinoff of Growing Pains. This could be a stretch but Galactica 1980 was a spinoff/sequel to the original Battlestar Galactica.

Good call on saving Star Trek for later... That's a whole nother thing. I'd say it was the template for the current interconnected "shared universe" concept that's so popular nowadays.

Probably right. It is so massive, and the Animated Series is part of it.

Something else about Happy Days you didn't mention: Happy Days itself was a spin-off of another TV show, Love American style. That show, which had a variety of things related to love. had one episode entitled "Love and the Happy Days."

Oh, I remember it well, and love that little tidbit. I thought about adding, but I talk way to much, so I thought I wouldn't confuse the issue. Probably should have made it a quick line though to include. That is some history.
@JLvatron

@@GENXPERIENCE You're right it would be confusing. Especially since the parent show was structured more as a variety of unrelated tv pilots, and let's see if any actually make it to their own show.

One show from 90’s had a backdoor pilot that still has grandchild spinoffs today, NCIS was a backdoor from JAG.

As you note, Jake and the Fatman gave us Diagnosis: Murder, which crossed over with Matlock, but William Conrad didn't play the same character on Matlock as he did on Jake & the Fatman. Those shows link, but Matlock didn't have a spinoff.

Hey there. Thank you for watching. I thought my research showed that he simply had a different name, but similar character to Jake and the Fatman...so I included it. But you're probably right.
