Instead of these rantings and bashing, I expect the federal government to make use of our military engineers and the certificated ones in the ministry to build our roads to our specifications. This will also build capacity and efficiency for our professionals and scarce resources. Stop all this contract awards.

@@olufemiademulegun4800 Egi, our engineers whether military or civilians are not well utilized in Nigeria with all their trainings. They're not able to maintain their barracks because of the law. Same with the engineers in the ministry of Works. Also, building, structural and electrical engineers in the ministry of Housing need to be engaged. The laws and responsibilities of these ministries need to be reviewed to empower Nigeria professionals to be professionals. It's absurd to continue to rely on foreign contractors to carry out national construction.

I don't blame the contractors one bit but the ministers who have headed that ministry. They are the ones who gave these contractors the freehand to do as they like because they compromised them. I think this is a very bold initiative coming from thr minister mad he must be commended. This an opportunity for Nigerian companies to grow thier capacity in project execution with respect to the ministry of works standard rates. Certainly, most of these construction don't give subcontractors the opportunity to quote for subcontracts. They just give you their rates and u go and work it that
