I like how "Hello Brother" are Damon's first and last words ever on this show, anyone else catch that?

2021 April, still crying.

I love how in the end, both Damon and Elena did not stay together when they died - especially more for Damon because like, yes, he loved Elena more than anything in the world, he got to live a happy life with her, he got the girl forever but in the end, when it was all over, he went to his brother. The only thing he cared about and loved more than her, was his brother and even though Elena came between them at one point and they hated each other in the past because of Katherine, it was always about them from beginning to end - not Stelena, not Delena, not Steferine, not Datherine, Defan was the real deal.

Who else is tempted to rewatch TVD in quarantine but can’t bring yourself to go thru the emotions again

So many people obsessed over "Stelena" or "Delena" or "Steroline", but really, it was really about two brothers. Damon and Stefan's relationship thoughout all eight seasons developed the most out of all. So, it makes sense that in the end, they were the true endgame.

one of the best things about this ending was how it ended with stefan and damon. no ugly arguments about ships, or anything like that... ending with the brothers the way it started. ❤️

Even so Stefan died, it was a satisfying ending. Even so Elena fell in love with Damon (I am happy for Delena ending), Stefan was still special to her and she still loved him. The scene with her reuniting with her family was beautiful, especially with Jenna. Jennas death always shocked me.

I had no idea that one day I would smile seeing John again.

I remember the “Hello brother” from the pilot episode and how it sounded antagonistic whereas this one sounded so joyful, happy and just full of emotion. They’ve come so far together!

Loved how Damon and Stefan are the last people you see. Brotherly love greater than most things.

Basically at the end everyone is dead except Caroline, as she was the only Vampire left. They all grew old and died. I would love to see her go to the originals, but I have my doubts because she would have the twins if Alaric passed on and she would have the School as well.

When Damon says "hello brother" this brought back memories from when he saw Stefan in the Pilot episode. #feelingnastolgic #tvdforever

In reality nobody really cared about elena being reunited with her parents. Everyone was only focusing on hello brother

I love that when someone asks me how this show ends, i can honestly say, "Everybody dies in the end."

I feel like I'm the only one but I get this indescribable feeling from that very last scene between the brothers. I can't tell you what it is but it's like a mix of closure, intense sadness, emptiness, and joy all at the same time. All because these damaged characters who both started out as innocent boys finally found what they initially deserved after life; peace. There's something about the music too, it's like saying "Yay! A reunion!" But also "It's been a hell of a ride, TVD. Thanks for sticking around. Goodbye." It sends chills through me and brings tears to my eyes every time. I just can't believe we won't see these brothers again. They are my favorite characters out of anything I've ever watched and SIGH IM JUST GONNA RESUME CRYING ALL ALONE IN MY ROOM

I definitely cried when Damon and Stefan hugged! And you know it was so full of love and relief and joy and they're both finally at peace together. I'm so glad they chose to end it on this beautiful shot of the two brothers. Because really it's always been about Stefan and Damon. If I'm being only a TINY bit picky...I would have liked to it to have shown Damon walking up uncertainly to the door of his home worried as to whether he'll be reunited with his brother, he knocks and waits nervously and THEN the door opens and we see Stefan and Damon is finally at peace because he found his way back to his brother after all. I understand why they did it this way because it is a great throw back to season 1 and the first time we see their characters and how different their greeting is this time even though the words are the same. I would have liked it if maybe they reversed it a little and instead Damon says: Stefan and Stefan says "Hello brother". But I still cried all the same at this ending.

Tvd started and ended with Hello Brother. This has truly been a long and wonderful journey, I just wish we could see more of the Salvatore brothers 😭❤

The last word from Stefan and Demon still gives me goosebumps... IT WAS EPIC....

I was so mad that Stefan died but then I saw that ending with Stefan and Damon reunited in a peaceful afterlife I wanted the last scene to be of Stefan and Damon at least I got that but the series finale to me felt rushed I thought we would get an epic battle between the Salvatore brothers and Katherine I think the finale could have been better if was a 2 hour finale instead a 1 hour. Like I said at least I got one thing I wanted in the finale

What i loved about this is how damon's crow came back! That made me cry so much, but was damon the crow or was it just like his pet???

I think this was perfect. The core of the show is the brothers imo. Yes, Damon loved Elena with all his heart, and I’m glad they got their long, happy life together. But Stephen will always be his little brother. It makes perfect sense he’d see him first, and that would represent peace. I don’t think this means he’ll never see Elena again, since Stephen initially saw Lexi when he died. I think (within the show) you go towards the person you miss most, and that was always Stephen 😊
