She was his first choice, every other male interest of Caroline’s had chosen someone over her at first and or some time during their relationship, he chose her. They should have been endgame. In their own way they were.

There are several scenes and quotes that prove that Klaus and Caroline were kindred spirits the two shared hot chemistry and intense moments, but there was plenty of evidence that they belonged on a spiritual and emotional level as well. Klaus and Caroline didn't exactly get their happily ever after on The Vampire Diaries, but fans knew they would have made a fantastic couple if given the chance. These quotes prove that their love-hate relationship was actually a soul mate relationship.

While it's not a competition, Candice is an absolute gem. They are both beautiful people (inside & out) but Candice had the advantage of much better script. Nina always had to play the damsel in distress while Caroline was out there solving riddles, being agood friend to everyone and having one of the oldest vampires simp for her...

@@ikizkyzora4608 Julie posted about it on Twitter after fans asked her why the kiss wasn’t in the episode (season 4 ep 7) and she explained that Joseph improvised the kiss and it wasn’t written so she cut the kiss out of the scene 😭
