it's because they always gave it their all. They blew up in an era where boy groups were dominating and therefore they always had to prove themselves. You can see the effort and the passion, they look full of energy with everything to prove. Add to that their natural overflowing charisma and you have a group that is able to consistently serve amazing performances

Times change and idols nowadays MUST have high level choreographies in order to stand out not only in the Korean scene but also as global icons. K-pop is extremely mainstream now and idols are being watched all around the world. The standards are higher now even in looks. Most of idols in this era look "perfect" just like if they were out of this planet. You can compare Super Junior and NCT looks when they debuted and wow! That's a BIG difference! Not saying Super Junior look bad but the standars are on a whole new level of perfection right now.

I don't think there's anything wrong with how choreos are today, but I wish there was variety. I prefer this kind of feminine choreography, and I'm sad it's almost non existent in 4th/5th gen. I wish we could have the best of both, and have some groups in heels and idol dance choreos and live singing, and others in sneakers doing crazy choreos and possibly lip syncing it.
