TVXQ debuted in 2003. They had 5 members: Hero Jaejoong, Xia Junsu, Micky Yoochun, U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin. In 2009 Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu left TVXQ and sued SM Entertainment because of their “slave contracts”. This was the starting point of the discussion on the topic of slave contracts which is now well known by many but wasn’t back then. They continued as the trio JYJ and solo artists (and other things like acting) while TVXQ continued as a duo. Btw Kim Jaejoong is basically THE heartthrob of his generation. TVXQ were/are HUGE in all of Asia but especially in Japan (besides South Korea), they are among the top Korean artists there and Jaejoong is arguably the most popular Korean idol in Japan even to this day. TVXQ are actually so respected and recognized in Japan that they are basically accepted as Japanese artists instead of being just a K-pop act in Japan. TVXQ stands for Tong Vfang Xien Qi, translating to “rising gods of the east”. At home in South Korea they are called Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) and in Japan they are called Tohoshinki. All 5 are incredible singers and performers, I suggest you to watch a bunch of their earlier live performances.

TVXQ used to be 5, they were an amazing group with really good singing abilities but as you are an Ateez fan I think OT2 songs will be more up your alley as far as replay value goes. Keep Your Head Down (the song you said you like in the middle) was their first song as a duo, it's indeed really good. The whole album is honestly amazing, and quite far from what most people would think of when it comes to kpop as a music genre. Songs like Maximum and Our Game don't get enough recognition for how good they are! As you seem to like heavier sound I would also recommend the bside Getaway from their Catch Me album 🎸 For info they usually do mirrored albums between their Korean and Japanese releases (different songs on overall similar musical concepts), so skipping the JP part of their discography is like missing half of their songs. Their Japanese stuff generally leans more rock based with experimental production choices than their Korean releases, a lot of fans were saying Rebel sounds more like their Japanese stuff 😊 I would recommend the album XV for a first dip.
