I am so glad I was able to experience flight travel in the 60s. People dressed up to travel. Manners and respect were practiced. My Dad was a senior Captain and my Mother was a stewardess.I will always have Kansas City/TWA in my heart.

My parents used to fly TWA Connie from Cairo to Geneva quite often between 1946 and 1956.

What an impressive aircraft..this was in the glamorous days of travel. I actually have four of those class dishes that was shown in the video, eastern airlines.

Great to see this. Born and raised in Kansas City. We always thought of TWA as our hometown airline. The primary maintenance base and flight attendant training academy were in KC till the very end. Miss TWA.

My dad flew for TWA out of Kansas City back in 1945, right after his service flying patrol bombers for the navy. He met my mom, a stewardess, there and they married in 1946.

How times have changed....technicians without gloves, goggles .......food preparation without disposable gloves.....passengers wearing suits & ties.....food on trays (I.e. not in a box!) .......how did we survive ? Well, very well actually.....lovely footage and a fascinating fatherly tone to the corporate dialogue......

Having flown in the 60s and 70s, I agree to a certain extent. The reason flying was enjoyable back then was for most people it was a new and magical experience. Now flying has become more routine but a journey to earth orbit will be a magical experience. However, modern flight is more safe than flight back then. The only difference is that the Connie, and other straight wing airliners, could land safely in case of a engine out issue because of lower stall speeds unlike jet aircraft

Very interesting! Ironic that they focused on the Grand Canyon, where a TWA Constellation collided with a United DC-7 later there.

Loved the video, made 3 years before I was born.. So weird to see people smoking on an airliner.. My father spent WW2 working at Lockheed on warbirds, and after the war, on the Constellation. He wanted to join the Navy after Pearl Harbor, but the Navy recruiter said he couldn't as he was in a "war effort critical job" or something to that effect. He asked "how about if I quit" and the recruiter said "The Army will get you before you can turn around", so he stayed at Lockheed..

Back when I was in the army I had the pleasure of flying on a Braniff Super Connie from Minneapolis to Dallas. After I got out going back home was all jet. The Super Connie was much better.
