I disagree with 1 particular point...the workers if they so choose to operate under this kind of leadership are complicit in their actions. Its a large reason why the intake of police has slowed over the years. "Doing my job" wasn't a defense after WW2 and it shouldn't be used a defense now.

Not only has intake slowed but cops are leaving in droves. Pretty sure our cops are sick of arresting protesters, strip searching teenagers and annoying commuters and patreons with their sniffer dogs instead of doing actual crime-fighting and investigation.

Totly agree. I made a comment to the same effect. Michael can't say "if you haven't spoken out then you're a collaborator" then excuse the people who do the actual enforcing. That's not being a collaborator, that's being a storm trooper.

I think you give indvidiual police too much credit. They are taking bribes from organised crime and not acting in the friendlyjordies case. The corruption of police is deep and widespread and pretending that the police themselves aren't also responsible for their own actions is dumb

Thank you, Michael, for all that you do.. more of this, please. The system and every built-in injustice needs to be exposed at every opportunity before it becomes entrenched. Once the circuit is complete (media, policing, judicial unquestioned alignment), we won't even hear about the levels of deceit and injustice involved. We will be living a Black mirror, dystopian nightmare.

Even extreme international revolts like BLM have no effect. I don't think there's anything you can do to a government system like our own to change its direction besides personally going out into the world and "reducing" the people who vote wrong.

Not only the political sector, it's through all sectors and echelons, corruption levels have been growing throughout Australian in a slow creeping malignant fashion since the 1970's. Now that the effects of this corruption are have reached a intolerable level. Will we learn? Will we as a society take stock, be brave, and work hard to to take control and manage our destiny for our current and future children?

Not really fair to call us the 51st state, we dont have any say/vote like the states, so we arent that well respected yet. Even the Organised Unicorporated Territories like American Samoa get to have representation in Congress in the House. Given that our taxation payments to the US/UK war machine and economies have increased under AUKUS - we *really deserve* that vote! What happened to no taxation without representation! Currently, we function as an Unicorporated Unorganised Territory. Through hard work and subservience. We may one day get the recognition we deserve and be at the level of Guam or Puerto Rico!

The fact that our government has not loudly condemned what is going on, except when one Australian aid worker is murdered, is deeply concerning. This is the most horrific series of events I have seen in my lifetime!
