My favorite thing is that they are not aware of the twilight knowledge of Stephanie Meyer being a Mormon and this entire series being an allegory for Mormons. Her brother was the inspo for Jacob and it make sense for all of the native, and civil war shit because of her Mormon background. Also Bella was her writing a self insert book being lusted after by everyone 😂

Meyer notoriously did not want any POC in the Twilight movies & pushed against it bc it wasn’t “her vision” smh. Also she failed to do proper research on the Quiluete tribe, made some a shady comment about Mexican people in the book, & endorsed Taylor Lautner’s white self playing a Native American person. Smh she is no hero. Not at all.

Some intel from a hardcore twihard back in the old days: Kristen had just played Joan Jett and her hair just wasn’t fit for the role of Bella anymore. As to why the wig department fumbled so bad, it’s a mystery for the ages.

Stephanie Meyer is Mormon actually so you were very close Gerrick! If I remember correctly I think that’s why there’s such a emphasis to wait for marriage to have sex. Also that Jacob is a metaphor for homosexuality and how in new moon Bella says, “it’s not about who you are but what you choose to do” and alluding to how Mormons think being gay is a choice and morally wrong. Very much a huge Mormon allegory which as a queer person I find both deeply entertaining and horrifying when I heard about it.

About Kristen’s hair in the Twilight series. They go over this in the twilight podcast btw, but basically she wore wigs in all of the movies (maybe not the first one) she had to have short hair for The Runaways movie and had to have different hairstyles for her other projects outside of Twilight.

I feel like I have the unpopular opinion of thinking the original actress for Victoria would've been so good. I haven't seen her in much but I think she could've played her even more sinister. I wasn't "scared" or threatened by Bryce Dallas Howard's portrayal (not saying it's bad, she just gave a different energy to the character).

So, for some reason I never focused on the fact that Jasper was a confederate soldier and we just never addressed that he was on the wrong side of history. Maybe it was because we focused on him making more personal kills as a vampire and coming back from that, and we took that as the overarching redemption to be able to celebrate his character. I don't know. I will say that the actor who plays this reformed confederate soldier also played Sokka, a supposedly Inuit-based character, in the terrible live action Avatar the Last Airbender film. Ah the early 2000s.

Y’all slanderin Renee kills me 😂😂😂 also you meet Renee in the first movie. She’s there in the hospital when Bella is recovering at the end, and is on phone calls through it. Bella routinely tells us in the books that she loves her mom and thinks she’s great but she’s rather childlike and Bella’s felt more like the parent than the child rather often. So by this movie/book it’s clear Bella wants to protect her mom and let her enjoy her life rather than worry her in any way. Also I agree with Kelsey that Bella led Jacob on

to confirm garrick's hypothesis of stephanie meyer being very religious...yes. she's mormon. all her books (except for 1 i think) follow the rules of the church of LDS- no drinking, no drugs, no smoking, etc. i know this bc sadly i went thru a big twilight phase back in my younger days lmao. but yeah anyways. if anyone wants to know the answer to: Why Is Twilight Like That? ...It's The Mormonism. lol

Also I think it would be fair if anyone in test audiences would need reminding that the "The thing you'll kill for" was blood because we literally NEVER SEE THE VAMPIRES DRINK BLOOD IN THIS SERIES Also you could literally just skip this movie and the entire saga still would make complete sense.

I live in the town where Twilight filmed all the high school scenes. And to this day its still a big part of the tourism. There's a huge ass sign that says home of Twilight and its been hanging since the first Twilight came out. It's so shocking to me how much the tourism is still surrounded by Twilight where I live. The town is called Kalama

Came from Spotify because I know the deal with Bella's hair this movie 😅 The wigs in the twilight franchise are notoriously bad, but between New Moon and Eclipse Kristen Stewart played Joan Jett and her hair hadn't grown back in time! So that's why she has so much hair 😊
