The idea that the movie had completed its story is such a LIE because the book it's based on has a sequel!

I saw Hayley Kiyoko on tour last year and she did an a cappella "Determinate" moment and the way all of us in the crowd lost our MINDS. This movie truly lives in Gen Z's minds rent-free

Nobody talking about the book this movie is based on. I loved the movie and found out it was a book and went to read it. I can’t believe Disney chose to adapt it. In the book, Hayley Kiyoko’s character’s shirt isn’t like fuck authority, I’m pretty sure it has like hands on boobs or something? And in the first Wen chapter, the photos Wen has from his stepmom are like tasteful nudes for her class and he starts to get a boner. No joke.

Was so excited when I saw Dulé Hill in Psych and then have a whole scene reference Holes in the episode “65 Million Years Off” and then in “The Santa Barbarian Candidate” when he says “I can fix that.”

Fun observation as a Disneyland cast member. After working oogie boogie bash last year, one of the top three most popular group costumes (as in an obscene amount of groups wore them) was holes just outfits. The hard core groups had the jugs too (I’m sure they would have done shovels too if it was allowed lol).

i will die on a hill protesting about how great this movie is. has zach watched the beetles movies? i was sober watching help and still felt like i was on a trip. also there is a story. jude went to America to find his dad where he met max who was at an ivy league school just to please his dad he than met maxs sister which was love at first sight but she was engaged to the perfect man who died because of war which changed how lucy saw the world and wanted to help change it. max was forced into the army coz he left school. jude was trying to impress lucy but his British he doesnt care about American war and thinks the radicals are a joke....hello home made bombs. sadie takes in strays while trying to have a music career and makes jo-jo successful. theres encouragement about freedom of sexal self awareness and experimenting of drugs and the taboo of it. jude got deported back to the uk ripping apart the lovers. after hard work he finally returned with proper visas to be with his best friend and love of his life. with notes of the war and racist acts happening at the time. the fact it has beetles songs is better. so there is a story being told using beetles songs.

ok but let's be clear. The DCOMs had an agenda, and that was "rise up, children!" because Lemonade Mouth (suppression of the arts and creative STEM/STEAM disciplines), Radio Rebel (using pirate broadcasting to deliver uncensored truths), Descendants (the new generation can do better than the previous one, also don't section off all your "criminals" into one space plus their families and leave their children in the dust), Zombies franchise (racism, segregation, police brutality, reclaiming indigenous land and artifacts from colonizers, refugees seeking asylum???). probably more but these are the ones I know 😂

Hell yeah! Love lemonade mouth. As a 32 year old it's one of my fave DCOMS(I didn't grow up watching DCOMs bc they wouldn't really air them much on free to air tv in Australia so first ones I saw were like HSM & Camp Rock) Please do the DCOM Stuck In The Suburbs! Killer cast & great tunes😂

We need to talk about how Caitlin said Startsruck as her 3rd favorite cause i used to fall asleep to that movie when i was 13/14 years old? Please do an episode on Starstruck! But also talk about the main couple never kissing cause their real like age difference was like 6-7 years? She was 15/16 and he was like 23 or something Edit: i made this comment before she said that. They did not kiss at the end of Starstruck.

fun fact!! this is a pretty watered down version of the book it’s based on that dives deeper into their backstories and deals with heavier themes as well so yeah it is incredibly politically charged and incorporates social commentary
