@@Beautifullystrong Yes! Because apparently the soloist wasn't able to follow his cues so Twinkie came in to TRY and get her on track by directing her in a very kind way because it was bothering her spirit to have that lady butcher her song!!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️😄 She should have been appreciative!

I don't care who was corrected or not. I just love the humbleness of Twinkie to get up and play at her own tribute when she's payed her dues, and have to. She got the band together and if you watched she taught all of them (including the vocalist) without saying do this. I love this woman and her sisters.

I see this as a teaching moment.. if you are doing a tribute to a singer of any kind.. 1. know the song.. YOU HAVE TIME TO LEARN THE MATERIAL. 2. play the song the way it's supposed to be played... 3. if you put your own chops and licks into the song...let it enhance the song and not just you and your instrument.. 4. musicians and singers HAVE TO BE on the same page... 5. have God in anything u do

I don't think this is about the first organist at all.. This is about celebrating Twinkie. I greatly appreciate the humility of the organist to relinquish the organ to her. As good as anyone of us is, it is good to be humbled every now and then. The singer with the big hair is a little bombastic to say the least but I come from this environment. When I was having issues she would catch my attention in service or wherever we're and get me back on track, or she would start singing along with the choir so I could get my tempo together. Even when I was playing and singing a song she would get me together lol. Now that's what a person of God does. Being humble and helpful in all situations.

You NEVER call out a musician in the middle of the set. A boss will wait til after to fire, admonish, correct, or whatever's needed. She's lucky she wasn't with actual professional musicians. They'd have shut her down, and played her into a vocal ditch to make her wish she NEVER acted out like that. There's three or four of them in the band to ONE of you. It isn't THEM who are wrong. NEVER cross the band backing you. They can make you look a fool. Good singers can sing through any alteration and make it look intentional or good. They also know how to get what they need from the band without speaking. There's a universal band language you use to get anything from tempo change, groove change, key change, and how to go back to any part of the song for a recapitulation. This cow doesn't know that language, and she'll never play with a good band. She's in the mimicking business. Boo for her!

+Jacob Brumfield Doesn't matter if it's your spouse, NO ONE with any class will do that in front of an audience. It's a losing fight from the start. It only makes the one pointing fingers look silly and unprofessional. The audience didn't come in for any of that mess. You sort that out in rehearsal. A pro will soldier through any hiccups. It actually makes you a better vocalist to be able to sing through difficult scenarios, good and bad ones. It's good training and prepares that person for pretty much anything. And that person will get hired over and over again. Because that's who musicians want to work with: A total pro. You'll eventually get away from your father and you, too, won't stand for any mess from a silly vocalist who tries blaming others for their unpreparedness. You'll see.

+Jacob Brumfield I wasn't referring to Twinkie. I was referring to the vocalist. All Twinkie did was take over the organ. Not that this changed the vocalist's performance any. Because it had nothing to do with the organ. She's just bad at singing, and has a stink attitude with no talent to back it up.

Bruh People are so petty with this title! It was just the tempo.. He still kills everytime he gets on the organ!! It happens to the best of us.. Somethings don't even need to be on KZfaq.. I mean this video is so pointless... Like this angers me because what exactly is the purpose of the person who even uploaded this clip.. I mean it's so obvious he can play.... But shorty with the mic won't doing it justice for me but to each is his own! The title should say "Twinkie Needs to Correct this vocalist" just calling it like I see it..... I felt like the vocalist was throwing shade though.. She don't sound all that great to me.. She was doing the most tho! Like I love the Clark sisters ( no shade to them at all) and all but since when did we get so caught up in the artist that we forget the one who really matters... "Jesus".. We need to get back to him... Honestly this is why I'm so sick of Thee "Black" church!!! We ( and I say we because that where I come from) have gotten so off track!! Focusing on what the drummer, organist, and whatnot.. We throw so much shade at ccm but at least the focal point is Jesus!

I agree totally, the artist was just as off, cause a good 1 can help them get the tempo they desire. But please don't blame this foolishness on the black church. Not all of us act this way, unfortunately it's the ones who act this way that get the spotlight. All because the flesh desires contention and strife, rather than unity and peace.

I agree once at a funeral a soloist got up to sing so naturally I followed her. I was on the organ and the minister of music was on drums that day. she started messing up badly. in the middle of the song she said "stop , yall got to speed it up". I got real mad because of the way she said it. so I stopped playing. she couldn't really sing😠😠😤

Twinkie looks wonderful and slimmed out! As far as this vid! The organist was great! The soloist, from Bobby Jones SC, and now a background singer for Jennifer Hudson, has no humility and she totally was not prepared as you can see she's reading her words from a phone. Twinkie's sounds don't require "Karen" like vocal acrobatics. She just did tooooo much without the oil backing her up!

This worship/ prayer was instrumental in bringing a newly saved young soldier (me)through a very tough time when it was released. It was my first time away from the safety of my church, praying mothers, seven months into my salvation; My first time away from my family; First time going overseas; I was scared, unsure..uncertain I could do it. The power of God on this song encouraged me to push through that year away from my husband and babies, and to grow in an very different environment. I was able to then allow God to reveal the strength that was in me the entire time! More than I could ever have known "behind the hedge of the Mothers." Thank God for His Power!! Thank you, for posting this video...took me back!!

And Chaka Khan(in hair only) was tacky I feel lookin at the words on her fone.. screaming these high notes at random.. totally awful.. 1. The Soloist couldn't sing...or she just didn't sound well on this song. And get that DOG off her head! Twinkie should have took over the solo as well. 2. Organist didn't do anything wrong...Twinkie just does it better 3. You can't get mad at the soloist for reading off her phone when, every time I look up Kim Burrell reading lyrics off paper. I've said it on several occasions, that Kim Burrell is a lazy singer, and people get so offended just because she's Kim Burrell and has offered so many people false hope that they can sing, because they're copying her runs off KZfaq.

+Egyptian_Thoth.... I don't know if Kim is a lazy singer or not I don't know because I don't know her work ethic or anything but I do know a famous singer who has had problems remembering lyrics and has used a paper or cues, no one could see, but she needed it, not because she's lazy but just because she will forget lyrics. And i know her work ethic and she is not lazy at all...I'm just saying you never know why people do some things. I have seen some people get called out on the spot and use words. I remember a recording with Karen Clark Sheard using a paper and if you didn't know the back story then you may have thought she was lazy. Or sometimes people are just tired from working they run from here to there singing everywhere and may need them words...lol.

The tempo was wrong that was the issue. So if you have the creator and writer of the song present and it's not played, the way she wrote it! Yes, it is wrong! We have to accept the error lean from it and keep growing. Personally, as a musician growing up and singing in choirs from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, we didn't have phones, etc. We had to "learn songs" and sing them from memory. Some musicians and singer and Chrisitains the truth is, we have become a lazy people when it comes to the arts and gifts we present before God. My grandmother said that is why we have rehusals! to learn and perfect. Let us stop making excuses and do better Bruh! This was a teaching and learning moment from one the greatest, anointed ladies Chrisitan Gospel. Allow it to be just that..... Much Love "#PeopleofGod"

The way you correct musicians in front of people is to give them INSTRUCTIONS. It happens to me sometimes when I'm directing or leading a song....just say...speed it up....slow it down......even motion the rhythm to them....stuff like that. I never just tell them "y'all messing up" cause that won't change it lol At the same time singing a classic Clark Sisters song in front of Twinkie Clark is not the best time to mess up at all lol. As a singer, when you do a tribute to a living legend you should: 1. Know the Song... the cell phone reading is a No No... 2. Face the Honoree... Never have the Honoree see the back of you. Unless they are in the pulpit area... even then, you turn graciously in the direction of the Honoree to honor the Honoree. 3. Rehearse with the musician. Find time, make time to rehearse with the musicians. if time does not allow that, keeping #1 in the back pocket will save you every time. 4. If the Honoree requested You to bless them with singing their song. Be prepared to Bless GOD first and man later. 5. Discrediting the musician is a No No. whether before, during or after the song, it's a No No. If you rely on their accompanying, then Discrediting them them on Disqualifies your skill set as a Psalmist or a Minister. You literally become the (Solo)ist nobody wants to work with. As someone who grew up singing the latest Clark Sister songs, learning their sounds and even backgrounding for them in NY next to Kelly Price and many others of our chior at the Beacon Theater in NY, when we were teenagers, I wanted to snatch the mic from this child ... LMBO... Nonetheless, this moment became a learning moment. I wanted to record this legendary moment because it's been decades since I had been in the same room with Lady Twinkie. When I saw her get up and walk to the organ, I was thankful to have my husband recording. The Entire night was filled with interesting learning moments.

Paulette Scott -- I absolutely nod my head with you, 100%. The soloist was just DREADFUL. Off -key in voice.... off- putting in attitude... Then, she has the nerve to try to chastise somebody else - - on TOP of being so incredibly awful? No. And, Sister Anonymous "Diva" ⭐☄😤🎤🔇should consider herself VERY lucky that Twinkie did not get up & set HER straight. Because, the one thing that Twinkie Clark has always insisted upon, with any product or project or ANYTHING bearing her name, is excellence. She is a per- FEC- tion- IST-- & that is plain to be seen throughout her life. I've been in Sister Clark's presence when our choir stupidly forgot the words to a song she was rehearsing with us for THAT night 🎵"COMPLETE YOUR WORK IN ME"-- and, let's just say, it was NOT pretty. By the time she had made her displeasure known to us, I could say that I had seen a grown man cry for the first time ever, AND our choir 🎼 could have sung that thang BACKWARDS. So, I'm surprised she didn't lay into this screeching, attitude ridden America's Got Talent ( ?) reject. Maybe she restrained herself because a lot of cell phone cameras were rolling. IDK.... Anyway: audiences used to let performers KNOW how their act was going by clapping, hooting, standing up-- & the ultimate feedback--- booing ( though not so much in the church house) .... Why has all of that suddenly gone away?

Twinkie is a national treasure as far as I am concerned. She is so very gifted musically, yet very humble and kind. She is gifted technically, but she relies on the anointing to take it over. She can take it to the rafters and then to the basement effortlessly. That squall she's got is effortless and when others try to imitate or keep up it's usually not successful. Like in this clip here. She is trying hard to keep up and match her but she just doesn't have the power of the Holy Ghost to put it over. Those of us who are music ministers, and minister through music, know what I mean. You have to stay anointed or you just can't do it. It sounds brash, harsh, and carnal.
