Today’s episode features one-half of America’s favorite twin duo - Tamera Mowry-Housley! Tamera is an actress, Emmy-award-winning talk-show host, and author. Tamera is best known for her role on the sitcom Sister, Sister, which she starred in alongside her sister Tia.
As a twin mom, I’m taking all the notes as Tamera gets into what it was like growing up as a twin in the public eye, how to deal with comparison, navigate friendships, and the importance of celebrating each other's differences. Tamera shares all about how she maintains her positive attitude and outlook on life, even when faced with tough challenges. She also shares insight into her journey of writing her memoir, You Should Sit Down For This: A Memoir about Life, Wine, and Cookies, what it was like being on The Real, and how she shows up as her authentic self every day.

I met her on the set of The Real. She is really as sweet as you think she is. I told her we came from Arizona to see the show and she thanked us and gave me a hug. It was a little after she had Ariah. I'll never forget it 😊

I think Tamera (and Tia) have struggled and suffered a lot more regarding their twinness than they will ever admit publicly (and it's okay, it's none of our business), but I really respect Tamera's ability to talk about these things with so much grace and elegance.

Thank you Nina! I learned so much from just listening to you and Tamera about sisterhood which can sometimes be so complicated. But the underlying mental health issues never get mentioned because of the stigma attached. I wish you had brought that up in the interview. YM

I enjoyed the interview so much. I have seen many interviews with Temera but this one was different and it reached a part of her that I had not seen before. She is a warrior woman indeed!!! I enjoy Nina. I like her questions and I appreciate that she shares of herself. It is this type of authenticity that can enlighten us all. We can dare to be ourselves. I like that Nina has a different approach. Nina keep growing and learning and bringing us wonderful content!!! Blessings!

When they go to school have them in different classrooms so if one is smarter than the other they are not compared as much.
@2manystories2tell43

That is the absolute wrong and worst thing to do especially with identical/mirror twins. Its best to let them decide when they want to be seperated, which usually happens when theyre in middle school. Its a natural process and forced separation causes anxiety. The comparisons happen no matter what because thats how people are and the world is. Teaching them how to navigate the world, comparisons and peoples ignorance is the best thing to do.

Everything has a reaction. consequences, rewards. positive and negative are part of life,We have to make choices. The Serenity Prayer, can be a MANTRA. The therapist sounds like she is in therapy,herself. Tamera, should get her licensed to be a Therapist.

This was a two-way therapy session, except Tamera was the counselor, the Host was the victim. This interview was to have been about, Tamera, but it turned into a counseling session, with Tamera taking the place of the interviewer. This should have been just a chat between two ladies. Tamera is very wise,in how she answers questions, without putting others down. We each have some issues, and TESTIMONIALS, BUT WE ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL THERAPISTS. YES FAITH AND BEING ABLE TO SEE OUR FAULTS, CAN HELP US NAVIGATE THROUGH LIFE.

I am so sorry to say this but this interview/questions are not good. Here's why: - This is just me/my opinion but interviewers talking about themselves is a huge turnoff for me. A lot of times you (the host) answered with personal anecdotes (19:39 is just one example but there are many) instead of a follow-up question about what Tamera was actually sayin. But as a viewer/listener, I am not here to hear about the host (especially when I dont know them) and 7 times out of 10 you should redirect the conversation on the guest. After all I clicked because of Tamera, and you invited her because it would make us click. So I wanna hear about her. - Being an effective interviewer is a real job and a real skill. The seasoned ones (the Larry Kings, the Oprahs, the Joe Rogans) dont stall while scrolling trough their pre-written questions on the CPU. That's because you're supposed to have a few important questions (hot topics/stuff that people want to know) and a few spare questions (in case the conversation dies a little bit) ready in your head, but the rest of the questions are supposed to be asked on the spot, based on what the guest is talking about (questions for them to dig deeper/expand on interesting things they're mentionning). - Finally, Tamera is a big celebrity and she has been interviewed many times. Why ask her about the same things she already talked about a billion times in other interviews ? We "been knew" about her being a happy person and her wisdom. You could've asked, for example, about how she deals with negative people or situations in every day life but instead, once again, you decided to sound off about your personal life from 31:50 to 35:30 Thank god she (Tamera) is seasoned and naturally answers my question - without being asked - right after your rant. I am not trying to be mean and these examples are just to prove I'm not saying all this just to say it. It's not a problem at all for me to praise something or someone when they're doing great, but I just dont think it was the case here.

@@bregn4 you're 100% correct and I agree. However, now with social media everybody (think they) can be a singer/rapper/interviewer/whatever, and to me sometimes it seems like they forget the actual work and effort required for a particular craft. I am not saying you should be a pro at all, I'm just wondering if people even do the bare minimum: did she even watch Tamera's past interviews ? Did she even go on TamTam's social media in order to be able to ask her about recent reels and recent things Tamera has been doing ? Once again, to me that would be the bare minimum when a busy and eminent personality grants you some of their precious time.

In the end the Host realized, she had her own power displaced. She actually Gave Tamera the Show.and told the world, her own,insecurities Many Hosts use their talk shows to ,talk about themselves, their own ego, becomes narcissistic. This Host needed to have had this interview in private, as friends. I can identify with Tamera, as my daughter is so much like her, and we both are so similar in Gene's or DNA TRAITS. TAMERA AND TIA HAD A VERY GOOD FOUNDATION. BEING JUST A LITTLE CATTY,TAMERA NEEDS TO PAY MORE ATTENTION, TO THE WOMEN ON HER SHOW WHO ARE WITH ADAM AND HER CHILDREN
