This is what made 80s movies so great, they had heart. Whether it was a comedy, sci-fi, action flick, or a drama in the end there was always a reminder of the inherent goodness of life. Personally I take that over the profound cynicism of modern movies any day of the week. I don't think any of us need more reminders of all the darkness and hate in the world, what we need to be reminded of is our shared humanity. Just a little something reminding you that things like family matter way more than any of this crap we wind ourselves up about.

The actress portraying Marnie, Kelly Preston, had met John Travolta on the set of another film in 1987 (one year before Twins was released). Although she dated George Clooney and Charlie Sheen in this time, it was Travolta she ended up marrying in 1991. They had three children and remained married until, sadly, she died from cancer just a few years ago.

Fun story about this movie: This movie was released while my parents were dating & they saw it together. Well, some time later they were at a party playing pictionary (the game where you have 60 seconds to draw a picture & guess what it is) & my mom was given the word "twins." So, she drew the image of Arnold & Danny posing like in the movie poster & no one (not even my dad) guessed that was what the image was supposed to be. It's a story that almost 40 years later still gets told at parties, family gatherings, & anytime we see a movie with Arnold or Danny in it.

Fun Fact: The movie Twins actually reunited twin sons with their lost father. The twin sons saw their father as an extra in the background of the final scene of the Twins movie, and used that information to track him down and reunite. At least, that's how I remember the story. Pretty cool, huh?

Arnold, Danny, and the Director agreed to make this movie for small payments, but big returns if successful. The industry didn’t want Arnold to do a comedy and wouldn’t back it. Luckily all their doubts were Terminated and the 3 creators made serious money.

Known Cameos: Young Marianne Benedict was played by Heather Graham, who would appear in films like License to Drive and the film adaption of Lost in Space. The Parking Attendant was played by David Caruso, who would later star in TV Shows like NYPD Blue and I believe CSI Miami. The kid who talked to Arnold the grandson of Arnold's "father" was played by the Director Ivan Reitman's son Jason Reitman who would go on to become a successful Director in his own right directing Juno and Ghostbusters Afterlife.

7:12 "If you lift the rear end of a car to an angle greater than 45 degrees, the Mercury switch automatically activates the automatic cut-off system so that the alarm's _computer_ thinks that the car is being towed away and shuts _off."_ _"Whaaat?_ Is that _true?"_ It's an interesting bit of trivia, but I can tell you from experience that it's not. Well, I mean, first, he _obviously_ did not lift the car to anywhere near 45 degrees. But second, I once saw a car with its alarm going off while it was being towed away. So, no. It's not true.

I gave this reaction a like for two reasons: one, this is one of my all time favorite films, and two, Dasha's comment about the scenes where Jules and Marnie coupled with scenes with Vincent and Linda, are reflecting the two major stages of relationships: the new love and the old love. Jules is nervous, being a virgin, and Marnie is trying to seduce him because she really has the hots. Vincent and Linda go way back and he is perfectly comfortable with Linda, and more conserned about the prospect of meeting his real mother for the first time. I have been watching this movie since I was a kid, but never saw those motel room scenes from this angle.

One thing I love about this movie: At it's core it's about family. Twins is a wholesome movie, about what really matters in life. Vincent's life was a mess, because he was pursuing all of the wrong things. Easy money, random women, etc. Julius finds Vincent and slowly introduces him to what actually matters. Maybe I am wrong, but we don't get as much of that in entertainment these days as we used to. It is even said in the movie when Julius tells Vincent that they can have a real family and a real home to where he is loved even when he is bad. Life isn't about what Vincent was after early on in the movie. Life is about family. I wish more people would understand that, and begin building towards a better future with that in mind.

I took it as Beetroot only put 4 million in the suitcase, not the 5 he said he did. After Vincent gets the briefcase and asks if this is the 5 million dollars he is told, "Do you want to count it?" - Beetroot. I never interpreted that final scene as Vincent and Julius keeping a million for themselves. I took it as there was just 4 million in the briefcase that was supposed to hold 5 million.

Of course, Vincent knows he's done bad things to by in the world, but DeVito really makes you feel how painful it is for Vincent to hear Mitchell tell him that he isn't bad out of necessity but because bad is all he is.

I was young when i saw this & Kelly Preston the girl that plays Marnie was 1 of the 1st girl's that made me feel some type of way. 3. I know u didnt have it in this video but the song "I Only Have Eyes For You" is 1 of my favorite songs. True, and the solution is the same both ways as well. If a partner is being manipulative or lying, boot them out of your life and move on. So many unhappy relationships exist because people tolerate bad behavior. The surest way to find a good relationship is to not put up with bad behavior. People must have deal-breakers, and actually end a relationship when the partner commits a deal-breaker.
