Here are my picks for Minnesota Twins midseason minor league all-stars. We recently passed the midway point for most of the minor league schedule, I figured it was a good time to recognize some guys, specifically putting the spotlight on some names we don't usually discuss on the channel. Along with a lot of the top prospects and other incredible performers you'd expect (Emmanuel Rodriguez, Luke Keaschall, David Festa, Zebby Matthews), guys like Michael Helman, Caleb Boushley, Ricardo Velez and Gabriel Yanez made the cut.

My God Emmanuel Rodriguez. Also, how can this be a list without Randy Dobnak? Whatever his ERA is be damned.

Dobnak is still funky and hard to square up. He has a .395 slugging against while the league average is .425. Commanding that funk is sometimes a struggle, but he’s fun.

I don't like digging too deep but obviously Yasser Mercedes is a big name. But someone who I'm banging the table for is Dameury Pena. He's an 18yo infielder for the FCL Twins, slashing 338/457/462 with a WRC+ of 153, but to me the most impressive part of his game is his plate intelligence, his K% is just 5% with a 17% walk percentage. Definitely someone to keep an eye on even if it is just stats

Its tell you a lot about injury’s this year when 3 of our top 5 prospects aren’t on the all star team. Lee, Walker and Gonzalez.

One thing id like to know is where does the system rank amoung the 30 teams. Id think its got to at least rank in the top 15.

Definitely top 15. I imagine most places would have them top 10. I don't pay attention to all the other orgs enough to do my own ranking, but this feels like a 7-10 range system to me. I know there was a recent Bleacher Report article that put them 3rd, but people I trust thought that was a very odd list.

Festa with 13Ks/9 innings is crazy! When do you think he’ll join the Twins?

I think there would need to be a long-term opportunity to open up. Since he's not on the 40-man roster, they're not likely to turn to him in a spot start situation. If nothing else, I can see them calling him up late in the year to test him out as a bullpen weapon for the playoffs.

I think he’ll get added and debut this year, the way things are going. But I see him likely debuting as a multi-inning reliever down the stretch run (unless an injury opens a door in the rotation).

Wallner at .324 OBP is concerning.

He playing pretty poorly up until about a month ago. Has hit .320/.395/.784 (1.178) over his last 25 games.

Brooks Lee for Farmer swap would be nice too. I think Castro can play 3rd and SS on those off days and Lee could be the full time 2nd

@@EtaM29 Why would you ever take Willi Castros bat out of the lineup? Hes been way too good to just throw to the side, especially considering how he's been arguably our most consistent player.
