You should see the finish you can get with Starbond. I do bentwood rings and do 10-12 coats on my rings. Sand up to 12000 grit and then buff. It is a mirror finish. It is a great product! Try it sometime you won’t be disappointed! No more oil finish is correct and people will be amazed at the shininess of your handles. Don’t take my word for it just try it on a scrap piece of wood and see for yourself. Should take about 20 minutes with the fast set spray!

Awesome knife and handle. One thing to look out for is sometimes using the accelerator it can cause the glue to haze over. Not really a problem if you sand between coats but just something to look out for. It doesn’t do it all of the time but it’s happened to me a couple of times
@TyrellKnifeworks

Question: Is it possible to twist the steel until it sheers off? Seeing you twist it so much had me worried it would rip in half, lol.

I'm watching everybody's homebuilt press vids. I have a concept for mine, but I just bought Baby's First Welder a couple months ago, so I have a ways to go before I can get serious on that.

@@astormofwrenches5555 it goes quick. I didn’t know how to weld and I learned so I could build my forge, then my (old) 2x72, then a power hammer (which I sold) then the press. 👍

Thanks for your interest. What I have is (normally) in my Etsy shop (link in every video description). I’ve pulled it all down because it’s all going to the blade show in LA in Oct. After the show, whatever doesn’t sell will be announced on my KZfaq community page. I’m going to be pulling away from Etsy because their fees are pretty high. Check the community page after the show. 👍

Kerosene burns off and creates a low O2 environment and it also leaves a thin residue. Both prevent scale formation and aid in the forge weld. Thanks for watching.

@TyrellKnifeworks
@TyrellKnifeworks 2 жыл бұрын
@@dlmperformanceandracing I put a lot of weld in the connection between the billet and the rebar... almost make little triangles in those areas with lots of weld built up on itself. That way it holds well. Plus I'm using mig with gas so its a bit easier (in case your using flux core or something else)
