I’m so glad that you shared his property with us! I’m not sure when, but at one point on another video, Akiva demonstrated a couple simple grafting techniques. He introduced his book: Trees of Power: 10 essential arboreal allies. Along with your YT channel and a couple other texts (Shephard, Falk, etc), it completed shifted my gardening paradigm. If people have not read Akiva’s book- definitely worth it!!!

this video confirms it: 2022 must be the year I find a way to start trees in earnest, however best I can in my tiny, shady, suburban lot. I've got a dozen figs in my first nursery bed this year, but I can do better.
@haram2163

Agreed. I intend to really go for it when I prune the trees this year. Also trying a lot from seed as well. We have about 20 fruit varieties I dug 100m of swales last year, but only had 5 volunteer peach trees to plant out. Water harvesting and directing will play a big part in the plans for Autumn.
@edibleacres

The beauty of starting trees in your tiny spot is that once they grow for a year they can be sold, gifted, traded, secretly planted, whatever! They can go elsewhere for their full life. You can truly be a nursery, as in helping little babies and kids get a good start and then wishing them the best as they head out into the world!

@@edibleacres Parents have 5 acres with a 60 tree olive grove. I have experimented with swales on the 1/4 acre veg darden site, and now want to plant out the main site. There are also fruit trees allover the area in abandoned gardens, so taking cuttings from numerous varieties as well as established trees. Cheers for the great vids, especially water movement, this has given me inspiration for this arid climate.

Osage orange used to be planted for property lines...its all throughout the timber now, as well as along the fields, and can be very aggressive over long term and very difficult to manage. thorns are hardcore they tear up tractor tires. Just a heads up if you plant them!! I'd plant 1 or 2 as specimens/mother trees but I shudder at the thought of planting lots of them!
