🌟UPDATE! 🌟 Make sure to check out the other version of this tutorial too! After filming this, I found a slightly different variation with a closed bail that may be even faster and easier. Let me know what you think! 😄 Just click the icon on the top right corner of this video to visit the other tutorial, or follow this link: • Faster and Easier?! Up...
Hey everyone and welcome back to my channel! Come join me in making these quick and easy pendants today! Grab your tools and let's get crafting! 💙
🔨Materials:
-Beads or Drilled Stones (at least 8mm; flat stones/beads are easier to work with!)
-22g and/or 20g pure copper or silver wire; about 12-15" depending on the size of the stone. (You can use plated wire but you won't be able to oxidize it to give it the same definition like in my examples, but it still makes a cute pendant!)
-28g weaving wire (used to secure the design)
-Chain nose Pliers (amzn.to/3ee7uPM)
-Round nose pliers (amzn.to/3q7tBdg)
-Wire cutters; flush cutters are preferred - I LOVE my $10 pair! amzn.to/3wR5hA5
-OPTIONAL: Liver of Sulphur gel and baking soda water plus polishing pads/steel wool, if you want to oxidize and polish your pendant
(Liver of Sulphur: amzn.to/3cCrLy9 and Polishing Pads: amzn.to/3RsQGD1)

Hi everyone! I'm so happy so many of you are enjoying this design!😄 There seems to be a recurring topic on here about the "open style bail", and I just wanted to let you guys know that if you're using 2x 20g wires, it should be strong enough for a small pendant like this, HOWEVER if you prefer a closed bail, here are some options for you: 1. After forming the chain loop (aka the bail) you can wrap the wire across the front of the loop and back around to the back. You're wrapping the twisted wire around so you're closing the bail. 2.You can use the leftover weaving wire (the thinner wire) to secure the bail 3. You can watch my UPDATED VIDEO! Yay! 🥳After filming this tutorial, I came up with a different way to do this design which involves creating the bail towards the beginning of the design, thus creating a completely closed and secure bail. Here's the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gbqFpJqKy6vbdac.html Happy crafting everyone! 💜 Abbey

Cute design. Thanks for sharing. Tip: using the excess wires on the bail to secure both the bail and frame to the back wire could help to stabilize the design further.

Rather than having an open bail, can’t you make the loop, then feed the 2 (untwisted) wire ends under the braided part of anchor them and the loop? That way no second wire is needed.

Hi Deborah! After I made this tutorial I actually found a faster and easier way to make this design (this happens so much in wire wrapping haha) but I still decided to keep both tutorials up just in case people would like to see both versions. Your way sounds awesome too and that's what I love so much about this art, is that we're always learning! Feel free to check out the newer version of the tutorial on my channel to see if it inspires you! 💙

I wonder if you could take the two wires and put them in a pin vise together and twist. Saving your arms and hands in that first twisty step. Or a rotary tool with a chuck that could grip the two wires together and on low speed twist. Just a thought

I’ll give it a shot and see! I think you would need to create the frame and then attach the briolette afterwards using a thinner wire (nothing thinner than 26g though) 💖

This is a beautiful technique , thank you for sharing 💗👏🏻😊 I wanted to ask about the bail. Will it stay in place without being secured? I am afraid the chain would end up slipping out of the opening.
@abbeyroadcreations
@abbeyroadcreations Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you’re using a doubled 22g wire for an 8mm bead, the pendant should be lightweight enough to hold on an 18” necklace, but if youou want to wear it on a long chain, you may want to wrap the weaving wire around it. After filming this I actually came up with a different way of doing the design with a closed bail and without using the weaving wire, so I’ll be sharing that in a new video this week! 💖

Hi, I've never made jewelry before and would love to try it..I was wondering if you could use glue to secure the wire onto the stone?
@abbeyroadcreations
@abbeyroadcreations Жыл бұрын
Hmm you shouldn't need to, but if you really want to secure the twisted wire a bit more, you could wrap a small piece of weaving wire around the bottom of the single wire on the backside, then wrap it around the twisted wire at the base of the pendant on the front. If you're still having trouble getting it just right, you can use glue--whatever helps you bring your creations to life 😊💖

Do you have examples of wiring up beads with no holes, I have some heart shapes 20mmx20mm and some pear shaped ones with no holes, company I bought them from did not advertise them as "no holes" and asking was futile so I just went ahead and bought them, hoping they'd have holes, so disappointment all round luckily they weren't expensive so I'm looking for wiring examples that I could use on these holeless ones. Thanks M

Unfortunately that bail may catch and open easily. If attached to the long front twist it will be less of a risk losing your beautiful pendant💜
@abbeyroadcreations
@abbeyroadcreations 11 ай бұрын
I've never had any issues personally with this style of bail, especially with lightweight jewelry. If you're using 2x 20g wires, the wires have been working hardened with the twisting and have more strength than a 18g wire at this point. However, if you're worried about it, make sure to check out the other video where I've solved this potential problem! 😄💙 I've linked it in the video and in the details. Happy crafting!

?? You could thread a piece of the 28 Guage thru the bead and wrap the opposite side of the bail n back thru n wrap the top to keep it still.
