tbf companies will massive security teams have breaches all the time, tbh as long as you're on the internet and aren't literally locking your employees down constantly, you're very vulnerable to this stuff. Security teams are still securing the wrong things, very little effort goes and in some places CAN go into monitoring email communication, monitoring employee activity (which is not just to make sure you're working whilst in home office but also to ensure you're doing nothing malicious), heavily restricting access to databases etc. So anyone from Twitter to Microsoft is still vulnerable to data breaches of this sort, all it takes is an employee willing to do it

The things that people are pointing out as "things getting worse for twitter because of elon" so far were the things that happen to every other social media - server outages, Leaks etc. I'm not blindly defending him, his opinions about, for example ukraine, are often pure nonsense and he repeats kremlin propaganda... but just because elon is an CEO, doesn't mean that every thing that also happens to every other website, is his fault.

I don't expect them to, however it's problematic when people point fingers thinking they know who to blame without understanding the full context. Perfect example of the Dunning Kruger effect. Seems to be a common phenomenon these days. I'd like to mention that most tech companies have a habit of employing too many people. Throwing more software engineers at a problem doesn't increase the quality of a product. Quite the opposite.
