My little cousin was recently molested by her mom's boyfriend. She was only 9, though she's not completely aware of what occurred, and just thinks something "embarrassing" happened, it'll traumatize her for life. It's heartbreaking and revolting to know that there are people supporting these situations, supporting ruining innocent children's lives for their own, sick pleasure.

Something like trauma can never truly heal. The best you can do is help them keep going. Not even move on, but keep going. They will need to vent, they will need to do whatever they need to to try to keep going. My only hope is that they don't do the same. At that point they are no longer a victim but a victimizer.

My father is a MAP and he fucking scarred me for life, he would always look at me whenever I was around and always got super close to me. It got really uncomfortable and it got to the point where I would isolate myself in a tiny room so he wouldn’t see me. Also whenever I was in the bathroom and I didn’t lock the door, even when I said I was in the bathroom, he came in and was like “whoopsy Daisy my bad” and it was so tormenting. He started showing obvious and creepy behavior when I was 7. And it got a lot worse when I was 10 and I “started” puberty. Now I’m transgender and he STILL looks at me infront of others. I hate him and I have trust issues thanks to him. MAPS ARE NOT OK

i got groomed on twitter for probably over a year. i was 15 and somehow smart enough to say no to a relationship but it didn’t stop that person from trying again and again and bringing up the topics dating and sex. i had no one to talk about it. i’m almost 19 now and i called them out on it and deleted and blocked their socials. i feel sorry for everyone who had or has to go through this and it’s absolutely disgusting to me how people can openly tweet stuff like that and get away with it. i hope that everyone has someone they trust enough to talk about it. if you’re a parent and feel like your kid is experiencing something like this, please reach out. and if anyone needs someone to talk, the comments are open

What really frightens me is the phenomenon of *minors* who defend these monsters, keep in touch with them online, count them as friends, or even seek out contact. So many kids are being led to believe it's all in the name of social justice, when they're actually being groomed. It's terrifying.

being a “minor attracted person” is one thing. if you are struggling with thoughts of attraction to children, you should SEEK HELP because it is OBJECTIVELY DISGUSTING AND WRONG. even the “no-contact” MAPs are saying that being attracted to children is okay, which it is not. you are not an inherently bad person if you struggle with thoughts you cannot control; but acting on them, encouraging others to act on them, or even just viewing it as something positive is something else entirely.

I cannot hate those people because they know it is wrong and want to fix it. It is sort of like how some sadists hate themselves because they are sadists. They just need help. "Age is just a number" is supposed to mean something positive like "not all children are idiots" or something like "you're never too old to have a little fun" or something like that. Something that breaks down the barriers of age in a good way. Pedophiles have ruined the phrase.

Gotta be honest, I don't think even 18 year olds can consent. So many 18 year olds aren't even emotionally mature, same with people in their early 20s. I have no idea why the age of consent is even 18 really, may as well make it 25 since that's when the prefrontal cortex stops developing

actually in some rare cases a pedophile could not damage a child in any way( in consent), this happens if the child does not care what happend and thought it was a funny experience and it was pleasurable. this means that pedophile saved the day! but the chances of that are like super low

I do believe that statistically, most sexual assaults are from someone the victim knows. So this could be mentors. People children look up to. Teachers, church leaders, relatives, and in a few cases, celebrities. (For celebrities I'm thinking about the Ren and Stimpy guy who brought in a young fan to learn how to animate or something but she was groomed)
