When you have coolmath games complaining you know you messed up badly.

The amount of people not realizing that the miis (talking about NPCs) were the main characters taken out of their own game was insane. Miis are now more human looking

It’s not that I’m upset the Miis aren’t in the game, I watched the tennis demonstration ok, I’m not blind, it’s the fact that their treated as the exception, not the rule. Everyone else isn’t a Mii, their just these other avatars, with far lass charm. The avatars don’t look terrible, they just lack all the appeal Miis have had, and built up over the years. This game treats Miis like an after thought, despite the fact that their what made Wii Sports in the first place. Couldn’t care less about the “Oh they have hands”, “Oh they have limbs” arguments. That really doesn’t matter to me, Miis have had those in many games. I just wish the game was centered around them, instead of them being rudely shoved out of the spotlight. The Miis exude charm, with their silly characteristics, and many Nintendo fans have fallen in love with their games, like Tomodachi Life, Miitopia, and of course Wii Sports. What upsets me even more though, is the fact that the rest of this game looks so good, and I want to love it for that. The backdrops of the arena genuinely look like cool places to be, and I love it! Though, the lack of Miis will always make it feel wrong, and unfortunately no amount of arguing about it is going to make me feel better about this. People saying that they “gave us what we asked for”, are missing the fact that we all believed that the Miis were a given. I mean, they were the stars of the previous game and we just couldn’t fathom a Wii game without them. But I guess this is Nintendo we’re talking about. It’s just not the same to me.

The Mii feature is the overarching of all features of Wii Sports series. Why they butcher the Mii appearance with the new design is beyond me. I like the Mii feature that is offered from Nintendo Switch.

you can only play as the miis heads and miis don't populate the world

No mainline Mario, BOTW 2 or Metroid prime but it was still the best direct I've seen in years, this was a great start to the gaming year. I've got my fingers crossed for Chibi-Robo & MySims ports down the line though. And I prefer the new Sports avatars over the classic Mii's, I hope the Switch 2 integrates them at a system level like Mii's.

Remember when people used to shit on miis. These are the same brain lits who don’t bother watching a direct and actually think of actual problems with the game such as the fact that Wu-hu Island is replaced by Spocco Square even though Wu hu island has been one of the main things that have been part of Nintendo from 2007 (Wii fit) to 2017 (Nintendo Switch release) (MK8dx does not count), or the fact that golf is not made in release and how they should replace badminton and volleyball with baseball and basketball. I think Nintendo should have gave a bit more time with this release so they could add these sports or features instead of rushing into release. The game actually is not too bad. They’re are nice new concepts which I will not spoil but a lot of people will know after playing the online test.

"Nintendo Switch Sports" ... Yeah that doesn't have the same ring to it as the Wii series did. Also the fact Golf alongside several other games from the Wii Sports series are stuck as updates instead of being *prepackaged from the start* kinda pisses me off. Folks can say whatever and be pissed about the Miis not being present in the reveal trailer all they want, but if I wanted to play Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort I'd boot up my Wii and play it. I still have my original copies of both games with countless hours spent just bowling or golfing in Wii Sports and even more hours with the Island Flyover alongside the previously mentioned two games in Wii Sports Resort.
