Sesame Place is a kids park located just outside of Philadelphia, and is home to one of our favorite wooden coasters by The Gravity Group- the surprising Oscar's Wacky Taxi! We made a trip to the park to take a ride on the attraction, as well as experience all that the park has to offer!

@@edwdscissorhands excitement is one thing. I get excited about things I liked as a child, but the excitement to the tune of crying is too much. Fine, keep my thoughts to myself. But if you gonna say questionable… keep in mind the premise of what we’re talking about. Not many toddlers/kids cry in excitement of seeing characters at theme parks lol

I went last summer with my friends and their kids and when I saw Grover in the parade I like lost my sh*t! I had my Grover shirt on and my stuffed Grover and I was waving and jumping . It was great! lol 😂

I worked at Sesame Place from April 2021 - December 2022 and it was easily the best job I've ever had! Everyone was so friendly and I could ride coasters before or after work, what's better than that?! I worked in janitorial services, so it was not as stressful as being a ride operator and I could just enjoy my time walking around the park and helping people. I miss it so much there since I moved and those memories will last a lifetime 😊

I watched a documentary about sesame street a while back and while I'm aware it was biased, it's honestly the only kids franchise type thing that honestly seems genuinely good to me. From day one it's been all about consistently good values, like when I heard about the character they introduced with AIDS I started to cry...it's the real deal kids show and from what I can tell it doesn't have any of the baggage of Disney and other, more profit focused kids programming.

By complete accident, Taylor gets to the heart of the matter by bringing up the puppet dog. Seeing the puppet dog move in a show otherwise made up of bulky full body suits made me realize what I like about Muppets: the expression, fluidity and chaotic, fun energy that that type of hand-controlled puppetry can achieve. That was the genius of Jim Henson. Not even the best full-body suits can compare to the range of motion and expression you get out of a hand-controlled puppet. Even Big Bird is ultimately operated by hand.

Theme parks are places for anyone to have fun, and Sesame Place is a park for anyone to have fun at, from 1-100 years old. This video makes me want to go to Sesame Place in the future! Great video btw 😃

I'm also an adult-like person and love meeting characters! I'd geek out meeting Snuffy or Grover! We were just at Dorney Park today and was upset that Schroeder wasn't a character they had set up to take pictures with. My teenaged kids shook their heads at me and took me to the gift shop to look at stuff with him on it. Lol!

Wacky Taxi was the big surprise of our summer trip that year (when it opened). What a great coaster! I was surprised how tiny the park is, but they crammed a lot into it. That new building is absolutely huge!

As a Muppets / Sesame Street fan this place is high up on my list to visit - it's almost a mini Disneyland in way when you think that Jim Henson himself visited the park. Not to mention Oscar's looks great!

Loved Sesame Place as a kid. They used to really focus on activities instead of rides. I loved Amazing Mumford's Water Maze, Rubber Duckie Pond, and all of the climbing nets. Really was unlike any other park! Oh, they also had those cool shadow walls that were in a lot of parks at the time (where your shadow gets left on the wall)…haven’t seen those in forever.

My tip if you're thinking of going here: unless you're a coaster enthusiast who needs to ride Oscar's Wacky Taxi (in which case, it's a good coaster), just go to Dutch Wonderland. I'm serious. Such a better value for the money with a lot of cool classic rides you don't find most places and the park embracing surrounding nature, as opposed to this place with a bunch of generic cut and paste kiddie rides and 2 credits (with 1 being good) for over $80 if you include parking cost (I parked at the strip mall down the hill when I went).

I saw Cookie Monster there when I was little; that was fun. I think he wanted to eat me. I hope this proves that roller coasters are great but things like meeting the characters and mascots are also great additions to the parks.
