Sonia and Anita, two sisters living in India, have been blind since birth, but a simple eye operation makes it possible for them to see their mom for the first time. The nonprofit organization 20/20/20 provides free operations to these sisters--as well as thousands of other people in developing countries. These procedures empower people in impoverished communities to create better futures. In this short film, Blue Chalk Media shares the sisters’ poignant story and captures their initial experiences after the bandages come off.

I didn't cure cancer, stop world hunger, or end war. But I sponsored 2 of these surgeries thru this program 7 years ago. I was able to pay for the 2nd one mostly with the points I had accrued with my credit card. I didn't have much money at that time, but I knew it was worth it. I get discouraged and depressed about life sometimes and focus on all my shortcomings. But then I think that this will be my legacy, that the world will be a better place because I passed thru it. That is very comforting in my old age. I tell you this because you can have this too, even if you can only donate a small amount of money. I did this for them, but it has benefited me more than I would have ever thought.

We take so much for granted. The abilities to see, smell, hear, and touch. Our minds can’t even fathom what others go through without one of these precious jewels. I for one thank GOD everyday and pray for all who have special needs such as blindness, deafness or limbs that have either been amputated or born without. We all do realize what a blessing we have. These little beauties are truly remarkable, my heart ❤️ is happy for them and I pray for them and the whole world to be blessed and know you are loved 🥰

These are the things we can do, and all it takes is " Caring" but we must all take on this responsibility every chance we are given. This is a beautiful story .....
