All I could see was the leg movement of the guy in the blue blanket.

Only plane TC flew was the P-51 Mustang at the end. The Navy wouldn't let him fly a multi-million dollar plane. He is in the backseat just like every other actor.

It was 33 years between movies at time of filming. That was alluded to in final airtight when gun stopped at 33. Jennifer Connelly is playing the Admiral daughter alluded to in first movie at beginning by his captain
