A serious accident involving three cars and a camper van took place on the N50 near Kampen in the late afternoon on Sunday. The accident completely blocked the road, with debris lying all over the road as the body of the camper had broken off finely from the chassis. in the wreckage of the camper, another person was slightly trapped. Two other vehicles had also ended up on their sides due to the impact. Due to the large number of injured people, it was scaled up to Grip 1 Medium Emergency.
Two trauma helicopters also arrived at the scene to support the ambulance personnel. A total of 16 people were involved in the accident, seven of whom were transported to hospital. The N50 was closed for hours, traffic was diverted. During the VOA's investigation, police helicopter 01 also landed on the N50 to hand over the footage they had taken from the air to the VOA. Salvage company Wolves towed the vehicles while van der Kolk Zwolle had set up the lights and cleaned the road surface after which the road could be released again.
