Nothing wrong with wanting to marry a friend. My best relationship was with a friend. We were basically dating without knowing it. So I would love to have the same situation again. But NO ONE wants a friend to propose pit of left field and in front of tons of people. Think about the guy friends you have and whether you want them to just decide to do that you. She's lucky (or may be blessed) she got a heads up. Because that would have went left. You saw what she said about being taken aback on the call. Now imagine that in front of a bunch of people.

I've had a male friend for over 40 yrs and have ZERO interest in him. I'm also BFFs with an ex-boyfriend I dated in college over 40 yrs ago but was never intimate with. I also have ZERO interest in him. I'm married and they both have been married during our friendships. People of the opposite sex can be friends. Those who don't believe it tend to be people who are jealous and insecure. And are afraid of losing the person they're with to his/her friend. Something that could happen with a complete stranger if the person as well as a friend.
