Most people don't really believe it when you tell them TLoVM is based on a D&D campaign. They think it's more like "inspired by the basic outline". While I acknowledge it's not an exact duplicate, videos like these show how many of the more iconic moments made it through mostly unchanged.

and how many elements of the campaign are in the show, there are many moments that directly link to the roll of a d20, namely either the nat 1 or nat 20, like the infamous scene where vax, scanlan and percy all fail to either break down or lockpick a door cause of the horrid rolls they got
