The DJ Frank never does any scratches, he adds the sonics. You can hear it all over the track

The thing about Deftones is when they came up, there were a lot of comparisons to Korn, and after 2 albums they decided to stray away from the pack so to speak. Also the DJ does a lot of background samples, keyboards and surprisingly not much scratching compared to other bands around that time. Another things it's funny you mentioned vocally sounding similar to Radiohead, they've been kinda labeled as the US metal version of Radiohead.

I think y'all should check out "My Own Summer (Shove It)" and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)." Both are popular songs but they might be more your style

Just as a hint from an old guy loving Tool, SOAD, Korn and obviiusly Deftones so on... Deftones are after Radiohead and Nirvana but before the rest.... One could say they are the foundation of Nu-Metal Lot of different Styles they play and for me... Chino's voice ist second to none!!! - enjoy & blesses -

They are pretty much contemporary with Korn. Both bands were coming up in the California music scene in the early 90s. Korn was slightly ahead time wise with their self titled album coming out Oct 93 and Deftones’ Adrenaline in Oct 94, but regardless of record deal status at the time, both bands were playing the same sized venues to similar sized crowds in those days.

Serj and Chino are two of my favourite vocalists, just so good. makes me happy to see Deftones get SO popular nowadays, i remember hearing like four Deftones songs go viral on tiktok last year and it’s so sick to see all of the new younger fans flood in. x

Y'all have got to check out diamond eyes by them, it's from 2010 and they moved to 8 strings and almost have a djent ish sound

I think you started with the wrong track. I love change don’t get me wrong - but it’s a commercial success. Their first album adrenaline and around the fur give you their heavier metal and just incredible harsh vocals. They are insane live and their collab with Maynard on passenger is one my faves. You guys should check out their song Headup, MX, 7 words, and My own summer. You won’t be disappointed

I’m a huge Deftones fan and this wouldn’t be the song I would use to introduce a new listener. It’s one of my least favorite song by them. I would maybe say check out Diamond Eyes or Risk. Those are a few of my favs.

You guys stop it too much and are way too distracted from the music video I get you can’t be into a song but you really gotta just let it play all the way through then say your opinions cause I love this song but your constant stopping and pointing out things in the video took me out of it
