Fun episode! Particularly nice to see the party using some tactics and buffs. Syd essentially got a +4 to her last attack there which was the difference between regular and crit hit. Hopefully they can build on that!

Magical healing of any kind counteracts the Desa-Desa's Bubble Venom, so Barnes should have lost the venom when Buggles healed him.

And FYI, Asta can actually prepare spells from the other Spell book, it´s call ´Borrow an Arcane Spell´: "If you're an arcane spellcaster who prepares spells, you can attempt to prepare a spell from someone else's arcane spell book, arcane witch familiar, or the like. The GM sets the DC for the check based on the spell's rank and rarity; it's typically a bit easier than Learning the Spell. Success You prepare the borrowed spell as part of your normal spell preparation. Failure You fail to prepare the spell, but the spell slot remains available for you to prepare a different spell. You can't try to borrow this spell again until the next time you prepare spells." 😁

Fantastic episode! Love Matthews new character. This is what happens with just a little bit of strategy and tactics. It also helps to roll above a 5 too. Asta's stacking of item, circumstance, and status bonuses and appying the flanking circumstance penalty really helped her crit on both of her attacks. Lets hope the team learns the massive benefits of buffing and debuffing going forward.

For Skid! Under the heading Conservation of Energy in the THE OSCILLATING WAVE description. You can change any any ability with the mindshift tag to use fire or cold and change its save to reflex. The Psi Burst ability has the mindshift tag, so you can spend an action to use that ( add or removing energy) this lets you then use your remaing two actions to use the non resisted type on a creature with one of your cantrips Also Restore the mind is 2+(2xlevel) no need to roll

Will say, though, that combo of 1 pt from the buggles and no heals from the cleric AND that outcome of what that cleric did had my screaming "you better not take away my Barns Joe!" Matthew. Dont forget you have dubious knowledge for free. Your "i dont know anything" should have been , "i know this possible lie or truth". Im also curious if you opted to take the feat for diverse lore. You should also look into the boomerang as a ranged thrown weapon. I was thinking youd pick either weapon implement with call implement or mirror or tome. I was leaning tome but mirror is awesome. Cant wait to see more of you and the art! Thaumaturge love!!!! Also you all show some love to Hubert. He saved half the party from that snail. He saved the cleric who in turn saved buggles, and Hubert saved the magus. Brother Rameus, i appreciated that high 5 appreciation.

So for Syd, under the Arcana skill there's rules for Borrow an Arcane Spell that allows you to prep the spell from another spellbook. You don't perma learn it but you can use it for that day. Also for spont casters you have to know the spell at the levels you're heightening it to. Which maybe they are, I can't see the character sheets. You can't upcast on the fly like with DnD 5e.

It's finally happened for me... I started my GCP journey almost two years ago. Since then I have been listening to the series whenever I get a chance. It took me two years to get through Giant Slayer, to catch up to Strange Aeons, and now for Gaterwalkers. The last few weeks were rough to lesson to and to hear about it on the Fod... But I have finally caught up. Now... to move onto there non-free stuff/non-pathfinder to see. I'm thinking Blood of the Wild first, but I'll be sending some comments for you on the fod! I didn't want to comment about stuff or try to until I caught up. Love the stuff Guys and Girls!

That's a very good point. I think the potential migration of animal and plant life between Castrovel and Golarion can be a pretty interesting subject by itself. When the elves migrated to Golarion for the first time, they probably would have had Castrovellan (or Castrovelian?) beasts of burden and other livestock with them. Seeds of their most sturdy crops. Saplings from a beloved forest. And the elves who left Golarion before Earthfall probably took bits of their then-home with them. Sure, not all species would have been able to adapt, but some must have survived. There could be plants or animals on Golarion whose ancestors were brought there by ancient elves, and barely anyone would be able to tell by now. So, GM's discretion, did ancient elves enjoy getting high on flayleaf enough to bring it back with them? Will brother Ramius be exploring the world of alien drugs? Where did flayleaf originate?

Great ep as always. Thank you for the top tier content! New character is amazing so far. I like that Barnes was also used narratively to help push the characters in the right direction while they were lost, very well done! Also I can’t tell if I’ve gone crazy because I expect raunchy jokes, or if there’s a well placed edit at 1:31:00 right before the laughter. The silence-> group laughter makes me want to believe I missed a joke Plugging Norse foundry on screen with a banner right before a crit is hilarious, makes me wonder how much visual humor I’ve missed when I listen to this at work.

been playing an ustalavic thaumaturge (wand implement) in my group's playthrough of this campaign (we overtook the crew recently so now I'm catching up on what I missed). They're a lot of fun, and have the capacity to absolutely destroy specific monsters while being a sort of jack-of-all-trades for arcane utility skills & tasks, so looking forward to Barnes being a beast (hopefully). Also, our hubert hedge was very posh and disdainful, but actually gets involved in combat after our disastrous near-tpk encounter with that blasted monkey-scorpion.

All kidding aside, I love the shows and really appreciated last ep because it felt "real". I don't think enough attention is paid to the trauma that adventurers would be encountering.

A GM can of course modify or ignore the Gold cost to learn spells for any reason or maybe adding different conditions like a day or more of study instead of an hour or so. Or maybe a caster using a spellbook can find the proper ink somewhere, as they looted a library recently and Brother Ramius could have rare ink.

Those specifically look to be the dice arena trays from Forged Gaming. I've seen them at cons, very nice. If you're traveling for your game I might suggest one of those common foldable dice trays. Fold flat, inexpensive, and readily available. Regardless, congrats on starting up! I hope you have a blast!

can someone clue me in on why Skid's/Buggle's "Restore the Mind" ability heals for variable amounts each time? maybe I am reading the wrong ability, but according to AoN Restore the Mind works on an ally within 30 feet and has two options, the one that heals reading: "The ally regains Hit Points equal to 2 + double your level." - which means it is always 6 points of healing as long as they are level 2. how does Skid come to the conclusion that Barnes (spelling?) gets only 1 point of healing at 1:37:25 ?

So Theo can create a clone of himself that...transfers damage it takes to him? That seems like a useless ability, or am I misunderstanding it?

The mirror clone(its not really a clone more like Barnes is in both places at once) can enable a flank with himself, or the ability to get over dangerous hazards teleport style. Says there's a ravine fifteen feet across. He can use his mirror to make a double on the other side then dismiss the version of himself on the far side.
