Two Stunning CARIDINA SHRIMP tank setups - Red Galaxies and Black Pintos

Two of my aquariums just cycled and today they going to be new homes for Red Galaxies and Black Pinto shrimps. In this video I am also going to move orange eye blue tiger shrimp into my aquarium with Neocaridina and mix them together - IT WAS BAD BAD IDEA don't do it!

Thanks! Moss growing very good with ugf method because of the active soil. I didn't grow like this when I used traditional method with thick soil at the bottom and without ugf filtration

Awesome video! I have mixed neos and caridinas in 5 tanks and I believe the caridinas get more active but my neos dominate at feeding =)

Thanks, I guess it depends on the ratio Neos/Cards, bigger colonies will dominate.

such a wonderful video and great channel I'm binge watching all your videos now. I do have those breeding boxes, but how lond do you usually keep shrimp in there and how well do they adjust to life in there for the short term?

Hi RW, I'm really happy that you like my videos, I like your videos too and I watched most of them on your channel, I know you haven't post new videos lately and I hope you will be back to your normal schedule soon. I also didn't post any update for more than a month just don't have much free time but hopefully I'll make a new video in a week or two. I use that marina breeding box to separate unwanted shrimp which I then I normally sell them on ebay. Sometime I keep them in there for few months and they seems to be doing ok, I haven't noticed any depths so far, I feed them daily and they always super hungry mainly because they don't have much of the available biofilm to eat because of small space and lacks of surface area but they still doing alright. I even noticed that some female shrimps got berried in that box.

@@ShrimpMania so happy and thx for all your support. Just got busy in summer with my sons activities. I am back to posting and have 2 new videos next 2 Mondays and working on 3rd one now. I have to move one of my shrimp racks, so got new tanks not good enough to make my own like you, and then new custom welded metal rack x 2 and move the shrimp over. So willl document all that also and have lots of new video ideas. Keep up the great work!!!

I'm prettny new with caridina shrimp, may I ask some question? 1.what is culling/cull tank 2.what is miscling 3.what is the different between galaxy and pinto? I heard the main difference is the backline or the dot on the head, but i found some people mention that shrimp galaxy when there is no backline, or sometimes they claled their shrimp pinto when there is a dot on the head

Hey. Welcome to the hobby. Cull tank is where you put all bad looking shrimps to improve quality of the main colony. Mischling is F1 hybrid after crossing taiwan bee shrimp with simple caridina shrimp I suggest to watch video on my channel about mischlings. 3 yes galaxy shrimps have a dots on the head. Some low grade galaxies might not have fishbone pattens or dots

@@stevenyap6454 well Pinto shrimp came first and then after few years a novelty product arrived on the market an improved pinto with dots so they named it Galaxy and everyone start to love them and keep improving quality to the highest galaxy grade they named it Boa. Pinto spotted head is kind of half way between pinto and galaxy

Hey Fabian, Some of them I've made myself from glass and silicone and some I've ordered from one of ebay seller in the UK. I'm planning to make a video to show you how to make them in the near future.

Could you tell me what the most ideal parameters are for orange-eyed royal blue tigers. I have them in my 5.6 pH, GH 5 kh 0, and two nitrate. Substrate is brightwell shrimp substrate can't remember the exact name

I believe they prefer slightly higher ph 6-6.5

WOW, you shrimp look awesome. I just picked up 10 red snowflakes yesterday. I am wondering what could be wrong in my tanks if I have a low baby survival rate? I think I am loosing some babies after they hatch. Also, I have about 10 snow whites. I cannot seem to get them to have any babies. I have had them for about 6 or 8 months. What do you suggest for water parameters? Great video, I am looking forward to the next one.

Hi Steve, glad you like my shrimp. Sometime it's hard to find exact issue and if you watched my previous videos I even restarted one of my tank because I had the same issue with baby survival. I couldn't find the problem - the water parameters were spot on but they still dying. The main issues causing it can be ammonia spike, too much nitrates, not enough natural foods in the tank - algae/biofilm, overfeeding/underfeeding, old toxic soil, wrong water parameters. For cari shrimp ideal water parameters kh0, gh6, ph 6 or below

@@ShrimpMania great call, I think restarting the tank would be best. Now you say this, it might be my substrate. I have more a planted substrate vs a more shrimp friendly. Once I start building my shrimp room. I will change out the substrate and cycle the new tanks. The adults are fine, but the babies are the issue. Thanks a million for the tips.
