It's because I was playing Decaf music. The gain has to be set differently for Decaf music because it's recorded at -5 db instead of -15 like normal music. If you've watched video's on setting up an amp with the SMD DD-1 you'll know what I mean

07 H2 Hummer RF T2500, 3 12 Soundown SA wire 2.67 ohm ..32hrz ported build by the spec. This shit hits hard.

My friend has them and is getting a sound stream Rubicon 2500 for them. From videos I've watched, as long as your power is clean you can run 1200rms a piece and be alright.

I hooked up 2 sa's to a power 1500bdcp and run it at a half ohm and had no problems man... later swapped that out for a saz3500 in a jeep grand cherokee. Now its running z series tho

It would be 0 gauge like the rest of my wire but fosgate for some reason puts 4 gauge terminals on the T1500 so I went out and bought rockford fosgate 4 gauge and ran it from my rear battery to the amp. the thing that's bad about having a 4 gauge terminal is that a lot of wire is not the gauge it says it is, the only companies I know that's wire is true gauge is rockford, kicker, and XS Power cable.

Get PWK Designs to design you an enclosure for those Sundown's. They'll slam much harder than what the store bought enclosure will do.

If you are for sure getting the Kicker amp, then yes. If not, you want the D4's.

Well don't get me wrong switching from alpine to sundown you will definitely get louder but it will sound very similar in the notes it hits. An easy change to the system that changes the whole way it sounds is a new box. And be careful listening to people at audio shops, know the difference between them helping you out and them trying to take your money. They get paid minimally by the hour and then they get the rest of their pay how much merchandise they sell.

At 1 ohm, this amp draws a lot of current. And the alternator only puts out the voltage that my car asks for at the moment. Like the 13.somthin volts you see in the video. If I wanted higher voltage and therefore more output I would need to get the external regulator from excessive amperage, which I will get soon enough but I need to find a time where I can go without my car to have the alt upgraded haha

But also check out the SSA GCON subwoofer. It is rated at 750 watts rms and has a 3 inch voice coil vs. the 2.5 inch coil on the SA and VVX subwoofers. Of course all these subs can handle 1000 watts rms but with the bigger voice coil the GCON can handle more wattage than that

Wow that's a hell of a deal. In that case just get the VVX's man I guarantee you will be so happy with them. Just don't skimp on the amplifier, the amplifier in most cases is more important than the subs. DONT GET lanzar, Boss, Pyle, anything that the price seems too good to be true, because they are lying about the power output. Look for a "CEA 2006 Compliant" label when searching amplifiers. The brands to get for an amp are Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, Alpine, Sundown, Crescendo, and AQ.

Have the same sundowns. Couldn't be happier. Amazing performance out of these speakers

Yeah this amp pulls a lot of amperage at 1 ohm, but like I said only the metal around the amp gets hot. If you put your hand on the amp itself it is cool not even warm. The heat sinks work fantastically

I have a T1500-1bdCP on my 2 T1's and they slam for how ever long I want and they dont get warm at all. I have my gains up to a little bit more then half way and usually have my EQ knob all the way up so there has to be another reason why they are so hot.

check out the older rockford fosgate T1500-1bd's. They are great and way cheaper than the bdCP like what I have. If you're really on a budget tho look at Hifonics, they do not put out rated power but they are pretty close. My Rockford 1500 is literally twice as loud as my hifonics 1600 watt amp was tho so take that as you want. But like I said I strongly recommend Rockford, Kicker, and those other brands I said

If you love the low bass (and ever since I've had this box I am in love with it) than this box is what you want. It will work with any pair of 12's

Amp is perfect for these subs if you look at my amp unboxing video you'll see it puts out just under 2000,watts at 1 ohm. Link to where I got the box is in the description, 4 cu. ft. @ 32 hertz and I loved it. Amp takes 4 gauge but it must be true 4 gauge like Rockford or kicker NOT cheap off brand wire that isn't true 4 gauge

It has a smaller pulley. I guess that's just what you get from excessive amperage alternators :/ I'm going to try to get the external voltage regulator so I'll be at 15 and drop to 14. But I have to take the alternator out and send it back to him for him to do that so that will be a while.

Yeah they should handle that wattage well. I wouldnt advise any more than that on them tho haha

tuning is not good for all around music. If you want to get them lows you need a box tuned low like 32 hertz. I LOVE low tuned boxes, they absolutely destroy lows. 40-45 hertz tuned boxes only are good for high bass and like a kick pedal of a drumset. If you listen to rap music or any kind of electronic, you want to be tuned low. So like I said check the description and check out the 32 hertz tuned 4 cu. ft. box. It's badass. And low tuned boxes have way better sound quality than prefab.

Hey, before completely switching your setup I strongly suggest changing your box. Prefab boxes are just not what you want when you're trying to step up. A box effects basically 70+% of how speakers sound. Try buying a custom built box or you can even get the one I have in this video by following the link in the description. Note the bigger the box the more efficient the subs will be, also prefab boxes are tuned stupid high like 45 hertz, idk what kind of music you listen to but that high of....

bro you have amazing voltage so your gains can be low. you're givin them things REAL power

ur subs get hot cuz of youre voltage drop, u need to add another battery in the back, if not at least a capacitor to level out ur power draw, more even voltage gives a better sound/less hear

Ha we all got to start some where. I started with JL 12w1's V1's and went all the way up to a wall with 4 DD9515's and 4 DD M4's. Now that I'm older I'm more into SQL I have 2 JL 13w7's and 2 HD1200/1's with all JL components. It's not the loudest but it does sound awesome and can shake your eyes pretty good.

What car do you have now? Type of car majorly effects sound also, for example 2 12's in an SUV will be a lot louder than 2 12's squeezed into the trunk of a car. Subs in the trunk kind of seal off the trunk from the inside of the car so it kills a lot of air flow and just rattles the shit out of the trunk lid. That's why people sometimes build a port facing into the car or face the subs toward the inside of the car

I know wat is going on why its getting hot a few things I don't know if u have second batteries but ur voltage was going to 12.6 u may want a batcap n external voltage regulator both mr nate can get for u. Also check the ohm reading make sure its no lower than 1 ohm although I've herd people running them lower but on proper voltage usually around 15-16. If its not that then also that amp is no joke but those subs r so under rated I've seen people have 1500 rms a piece those subs R NO JOKE LOL

You need to get a smaller pully for your alternator.. If its at least a 200 amp and you have a 2nd battery you shouldn't be dropping voltage like that. Before I got a smaller pully I dropped below 13 and now I rarely see below 14 at idle.

Yep I just got an iphone this summer and I filmed some of the sa-15 video with it. All you do is instead of holding it up normally, film with the phone sideways. It makes it normal when you upload it to your computer

Yeah Skar Audio and Sundown are two very similar companies. I would take a skar woofer with no complaints. Only thing I dont like is how they changed the cone of subwoofer with the V2's. I like the smooth clean look on the V1's now they just look like a Sundown subwoofer haha I really dont know why they did that. but what notes a sub hits is mainly on the box tuning. If you put a sundown sa-12 and a skar vvx 12 in the same box on the same power it will sound basically exactly the same

And keep in mind are they are asking you questions like "what kind of music do you listen to?" or are they saying "No don't listen to anyone else this is what you want" and points you to a ridiculously priced subwoofer in a prefab box. Ask questions like "What are your boxes tuned to?" "What tuning would you recommend for my music tastes?" see if they can answer those questions without hesitation, If not than they don't know what they are doing and I'd walk out

For a 1500 watt amp you definitely want 4 gauge. But for what you're running at the moment 8 gauge is fine. Hifonics is a perfectly fine starter amp i'd just say get a little higher wattage than what you need like a 2000. But if you can get discounts on Kicker equipment without a doubt get the kicker 1500. I believe they are only 2 ohm stable tho so if you get a kicker amp make sure you buy the dual 2 ohm versions of the vvx so you can wire them to 2 ohms.

Also, make sure you get the dual 4 ohm versions so you can wire to 1 ohm, its hard to find an amplifier that puts out a lot of power at 2 ohms (unless you have a lot of money). You want 1500 watts on those subs for sure.

Whatever you have the room for. The 12's are amazing subwoofers. So are the 15's but the 15's need at least 3-4 cubic feet per sub. So if you only have 4-5 cubic feet to work with I would get the 12's

MSW Enclosures makes some of the best prefabs out there in my opinion, I have a 4cu single 15 box and I also ordered a custom built to spec for my kicker solo x 10in sub and I was highly impressed with both and especially for the cost!!! I really wanna pull the trigger on the 5cu dual 12 box for my sundown x12's but man $300 is alot of loot when I can build my own for maybe $50-60 lol

I've tested it throughout a few years and it was always loudest with the subs facing back. Because it just bounces straight off the trunk and booms into the car. I now have Sa-15's subs up port facing back and they are loud but I know it'd be louder with the subs back port back. This is only the case for SUV's tho. For a car's trunk I personally would face them forward and seal them off from the trunk so they would be pressurizing only the cabin

Box was tuned to 32 hertz and you could hear it a looong ways away, those lows carry so I love low tuned boxes haha but now I have two sa-15's tuned at like 34-35 hertz and it slams so hard. I'll have video's soon
