What are your thoughts on GoTrax's Apex Electric Scooter model? You suggested any model from GoTrax and HiBoy are good budget models. i would only be using it to go back and forth from my house to my neighborhood pool and to ride it up and down my local parkway that has a sidewalk. What are your thoughts on the Apex Electric model? any other one that would be comparable to this one? Also one more question: What is the maintenance , and upkeep on an electric/battery scooter? brakes? etc?
@ElectricRevolution
@ElectricRevolution 6 ай бұрын
Haven't tried the Apex so can't say but this model would be good for what you're looking for, it's more of a put around the neighborhood type of a scooter. Not sure what to say on the up keep, I don't keep them for very long

This scooter has lasted me using it everyday for about a year and a half in college so far - it is by far the best scooter at this price range. Throttle and brakes are smooth. If you’re riding on bumpy roads I suggest pneumatic tires instead of the solid rubber ones. I have the solid tires and they have already worn out by now. They are also a pain to replace but that isn’t the scooters fault.

@goofytuna6077
@goofytuna6077 Жыл бұрын
@@ceejaycuevas6652 That's great! It should definitely serve you well. Just be careful of the e-brake when you ride it the first time - it is stronger than you expect. I learned this the hard way by falling off LOL. But treat it like a car brake by easing up on it and you should be fine.

@ElectricRevolution

This is a good scooter for that type of commute. I bet the tires will last ya around 700 miles, depends on how you ride. Not sure what the charge cycle rating is. Hiboy is a very good brand for this price range so it should last a while

@@ElectricRevolution I just checked out the link you posted but it's something I'm not really looking for. Gear Testathon how does it ride with the rubber tires? I’m a little concerned about that. Also , do you find it actually takes the advertised 6 hours to charge? That is quite a bit longer than the 3-4 the Gotrax advertises. Thanks for you answer by the way!

@@Blackbookproduct10ns They ride smoother than other scooters with rubber tires, those air pockets help to dampen a bit also not sure on the recharge, never tested that out but my experience has show that it's pretty accurate to what the manufacturer says

Are you or anyone reading this comment have issues with battery life? It's advertised at 17 mile range but Im not getting anywhere near that. Honestly I feel like I am getting 3-5 miles maybe. After using it for maybe a mile or 2 the battery indicator goes down to half way. Does turning it on and off often maybe cause a battery drain? I had them ship me a new battery and still the same thing.

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzfaq.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

@@hhova29 Gotrax G4 is a beast. Brakes are better on the S2 and S2 Pro though but G4 has better ride quality. You can always get the S2 now and upgrade the front shock to the Monorim V3 which drastically improves the ride quality of the S2/S2 Pro.

Terminology being tricky at times like as example range.... Hill degrees In general I've rarely seen a hill marked with a degree posting. By rarely I might mean NEVER! I know the mathematical way to determine degree but by looking at a local hill I have no idea how's I get the numbers to do the math. Thus in all cases tells no me the degree gout device can handle means almost nothing. That seems risky as a potential consumer. Oh and by handle are we talking the scooter can climb on it's own and is there wiggle room if one I'd OK with significant speed reduction or that and assisting the scooter with kicks during the climb. Terminology being key.
