I've got to admire Iga's dynamic energy, movement and determination. But she has only 3 shots: serve, thumping backhand, thumping forehand. That is so thoroughly dull compared to so many of the top-50 ATP players who can lob, dropshot, slice, volley, smash etc. WTA sucks, I'm afraid - though this was a good match (nice to see Haddad do things like drop-volley etc)

my guy with all respect probably everyone inside the ATP top 800 will absolute roundhousekick Iga or Haddad. Of course this was a very good match to watch, but comparing ATP with WTA is like comparing apples with marshmallows, they are just two different sports.

There will always be a lot of haters. It's their decision to skip those top-level games on WTA tour.

@@MP_Tennis I know mate, but many folks say that there is no competition in WTA, noone is consistent etc. This tournament proves them wrong.

WTA is also nice even though you can't expect the same level of entertainment. Biological differences between men and women will always be there no matter what but real tennis fans can still appreciate what women can do. Just keep your expectations in check and don't demand impossible.

The final was really good as well. I thought Iga was at one stage going to lose, until she capitalised on Muchova's mistakes and missed chances. She was even closer to losing in her last-16 match at Wimbledon on Sunday, she was a set down and faced 2 match points and still won!

Ja przegapiłem ten mecz - faktycznie w drugim secie było tak źle...? dlaczego? może Maia wymuszała błędy...

@marcinmartin4667 faktycznie tak było Maia przełamała na 1-3 a i tak w każdym gemie serwisowym Igi byly problemy w dwóch musiała się bronić w pierwszym 2giego seta serwowała i było już 0-40 ale się wybroniła. Poza tym dużo błędów najczęściej z bekhendu jak i siatkie i auty na długość. Za dużo tego było. Ja rozumiem że Maia jest leworęczna ale po jaki czort Iga grala jej non stop z bekhendu po krosie na jej forhend. Myślę że w finale nie będzie takich błędów poza tym K Muchova zaczęła utykac pod koniec meczu i w finale pierwsze kwadranse pokaże prawde o kontuzji

@@wojtekja If the game was paid on bums on seats individually from each other, men's tennis and women's tennis the women would not be able to make a living, there is no way they would attract the viewing figures needed to pay the sums they get, and if you think differently you are not researching these financial sports and how players are paid........soccer is a prime example, women game is paid less yet they get more of the revenue from sponsorships and viewing figures than the men do, even though they are on more per match.....And listen to what I said it was not saying they are unskilled, or that they were paid by the hour, And lastly, nobody needs to be qualified to make a statement about what clearly happens in the tennis world with males and females, it is fact.........Im pretty certain I have not said anything that I needed training for to get a certificate to be able to say it.
