Love this idea! The popped up version is more dramatic, but those of us who mail most of our cards and don't want to spend a fortune to do so need to forego all that dimension.

I have worn contacts for 50 years. For the last 25 years I have worn a “mono” contact and a long distance contact. I absolutely love them. I can see long distance and read close up without readers. Some people think it’s hard to get use to but it really isn’t. Your dominate eye takes over for whatever task you are doing. I highly recommend this. When I am not wearing my contacts I wear progressive lenses. I hated having to carry around two pairs of glasses especially when shopping.

I love my mono vision contacts, too. About a year ago I got a pair of glasses for crafting or reading very small print once in a while. My dr. said that "cheaters" aren't good because it gives "more power" to the eye that doesn't need it, if that makes sense. (he said it in a more medical term) My glasses are strictly for distance.

I love your live videos! On the glasses topic, I use progressives and workplace glasses (mid-range and close up). I think that the important part of getting progressive is to spend a little more money to get a wide viewing area within the lenses.

Stunning card! Yes, we have to be light hearted about living with type 1. Diagnosed when I was 57, 11 years ago. The first year was filled with so many changes ( gluten free, dairy free, mostly grain free) and fears. But fast forward a few years and an insulin pump ( life changer) and I sometimes forget I have it. Have never eaten any of the sugar cubes that are sold, but do carry a stash of Kind bars. Will definitely try making this beautiful card. Thanks for sharing your time and talents as well as Toms fabulous ‘words of the day’.

I love your card making videos but the story about your dad was priceless. I wear progressives so I understand your dad’s confusion. Initially, it takes some adjustment. Hope the clip-on solves the problem, otherwise try progressives. BTW, your card was lovely. Great technique!

My internet went out 30 minutes before you went live, so had to watch the replay. Beautiful card, and I am going to try this. You definitely need to try progressive lenses. It took me a month to get use to them years ago, but now they have a wider range of view.❤️❤

Didn’t get to watch this live. Love the card!! I also love the story about your Dad at the end. I am still laughing. That reminded me so much of what my late husband would say. I am really interested about the attachment for your glasses. I am a contact wearer as well because I see better and should take a break. My glasses are trifocals and the computer screen is really hard to adjust to. Maybe something like that would help me. Thanks!!

OMG, the story about your dad is sooo funny! I have progressives and it they are great but looking down to go down stairs gets some getting used to. They are no line so they will look like your regular glasses. I don't think I could get used to the line (2 lines if you have tri-focal).

I've never had a problem mailing cards that have on level of pop up or gems on them. I put the pop up side to the back of the envelope. For gems, I put a small piece of bubble wrap over the gem and put it to the back of the envelope.😊

Gina, why waist that precious leftover ink: get the clean white cardstock and wipe your brushes on it, and after a while with all those different inks you will get a fabulous panel with a gentle color background. Sweep some perfect pearls over it and nobody would ever believe that it was your "cleaning paper." Love your cards, the idea is smart and the result is effective. 😘

My sis in law had some from a different optometrist office, and she never had a problem with them other then old and full of scratches. lol she went to the place you can get 2 pair for $79.00 and she’s had nothing but trouble as well as taking them back 2 times stating they are wrong, the 2nd time they used her warranty, so that really set her off, their fault for screwing up the strength, their fault for where the lenses set. Yet she more or less paid for them a 2nd time she’s been mad as a hornet since and would never recommend the hoot owl company. They charged her over $300.00 for the glasses. Sad so sad, so if you go for progressives make sure it’s a well know and renowned optometrist. Or just say no. The card was beautiful. Tfs
