First, have had mine since March. LOVE it. I love the key. An actual key. Here is a tip, put your index finger along the key (like your pointing) and you will find the key hole nearly every time. Almost like tac reloading a pistol. Works.

Thanks for your comment! I love the key idea and will give this a shot. I was a step away from getting a car that had a digital key that I could unlock with my Apple Watch - I love having one less thing to lose... but alas, not gonna see that any time soon on a Grenadier!

San Diegan here. You're right, our potholes are "phenomenally bad"! Thanks for this informative video. You touched on most all my concerns. Ordered mine about 4 months ago and lately have been "on the fence". You've helped ease my mind and I'm gonna go forward with this "Happy" rig.

Thanks for your comment. I was a little nervous, but feel like I'm in good hands with this dealer. They're a small group, so you'll get to know them personally - which just adds to the experience.

Hi Josh. I’m glad you’re enjoying your Grenadier. I’ve got over 22,000km on mine now, with no problems at all (other than very minor things that the dealer sorted out straight away).

Thanks for you comments. I am really happy with my color (Britannia Blue)- it looked almost black on the configurator, so not as many people have ordered it. They are making it the no-cost color option for 2025, meaning all other colors have a small up-charge. For 2024, the No Charge color was Scottish White.

Excellent!!! Thank you for sharing your experience. I think it’s an incredible piece of machinery. Not many cars have this character. I’m sure INEOS will work out these small bugs. Nothing to worry about. 👍

I have owned my Grenadier for 3 months now and have 3500 miles on it. Been on longer trips on the freeway up the coast and off road twice. Off road is just floats over everything as it knows it was born to do so. It's also great for long on road trips. Around town below 35 miles per hour it feels a bit more like a truck than an SUV. The reviewer nailed it at the end when he says the few quirks are actually part of it's DNA and makes it feel authentic. Never had a vehicle with this much character that makes me smile so much except perhaps for my very first vehicle, a 1957 VW Van. Jump on in the waters fine, oh by the way it can wade 31.5" through streams and lakes effortlessly. DaBull

Thanks for your comments! There are a lot of curious folks just learning about the Grenadier and hearing from other owners on impressions and driving feel is appreciated. I can only wish that I once owned a VW van - I always wanted the Camper Van that they made in the 70's...

I've been considering a Grenadier. I had a 1993 Range Rover LWB that I drove for 13 years. It was a maintenance nightmare but I miss it every day. The Ineos has that same kind of utilitarian appeal as the old-style, horsey-set Range Rover..
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 2 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I had a '95 RR LWB and it still ranks among my favorites from the past. You are so accurate in it being a maintenance nightmare too. The INEOS isn't striking me as quite the gamble that the old Rovers were - the components used are so much more advanced out of the gate, and the overall build quality is truly solid. Good luck with your decision!

A neatly put together video. Independent Front Suspension equipped vehicles have a better turning radius. This has a solid front axle. There may be a way to slightly adjust the camber on the front wheels that could aid in the return-to-center.

Thanks for commenting. The more I drive it, the more normal it gets - it's that initial surprise that seems to catch everyone. So, for me the return to center isn't really an issue. Just wish it had a little tighter turning circle!

@charlymagne 7 күн бұрын
I just reached 1000 miles on mine and I love it. On the issue of the turning radius, I noticed that you can turn the steering wheel more than you would normally would in a different vehicle, once I started doing this, the turning radius is great. Try it out. You can do almost three and a half total revolutions on the steering wheel. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger, you won’t regret it.

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate those who already have Grenadier's chiming in on their experience as that is at the top of mind for many who are just discovering it. I plan to test out your turning radius advice - thanks for that!

I’m one year into mine over in the UK, thankfully the early cars didn’t have the mandatory speed auto warning that they now come with . Saying that I do actually set mine @ 70mph so it bleeps if I speed on the motorway . After the big software update just after Christmas absolutely no faults what so ever . Mpg on my diesel is climbing and last 45 mile trip averages 27.4 uk mpg.
@MyAutomobileObsession

Thanks for your comment. I just heard that we are due for a software update next month, and I hope it resolves things that I can tell are software related - but annoying nonetheless. I agree with your one speed warning setting (here in California we generally set them to 80) but I'm a little less inclined to drive that fast in my Grenadier...at least not yet!

With the front axle as designed, there is very little they can do, unless you go for shorter, thinner tires. For me, a heated steering wheel is something I think they should add. I do like the armrest on my L322 and think that is another thing they can add. A lit ring around the keyhole would be a easy add as well.
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 2 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comments. It's funny how we all look back fondly at our Range Rovers and wish that the Grenadier had a few of those features. A heated steering wheel isn't a big ask, and I agree with you about the armrest in the L322 - I used to drive one too, so I know exactly what you mean!

Great video! I have a 2016 Land Rover LR4 with air suspension and love it. Do you miss having air suspension with your Grenadier? Like do you wish it had air suspension?
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 4 күн бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I do miss the air suspension and frankly used it a lot when I was sitting in traffic as it gave me that extra boost to see past the car in front of me! Only my first Range Rover ('95) had regular issues with it needing repair, but subsequent models I owned never had issue. The Grenadier feels so much like my old Land Rovers - so I do miss it, but I think the clearance is actually pretty good as-is.

overspeed warnings become mandatory in EU, UK and other European countries this month. They have to default to on at start up. They also apply to any unsold models being sold through dealers. So, MY23.5 that didn't have it and hadn't sold has to be retrofitted before it can be sold. Most vehicles for the last 6 months have had it auto-on. For the last 10-20 years, vehicles had it defaulted to off. That isn't allowed any more (in Europe).
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for this comment! I knew that there were reasons behind the overspeed warning, but was unsure as to where they were coming from. The ADAS features are standard equipment in the U.S., so unavoidable. Thank you for filling in some of the blanks!

Funny, it looks like you live and drive in downtown San Diego. I go there often and when I test drove a Grenadier, the turning circle and the rear visibility had me thinking that it would be a nightmare trying to navigate the inner city. I don’t mind the steering feel at all, but yeah I thought parallel parking (and even tight parking lots) and the narrow roads would be tough. Seems like you are ok with it, very curious on your honest learning curve with that part of the car’s livability.

@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 10 күн бұрын
I had a chat with my dealer service manager since posting this video, and the incorrect info is coming from the head unit which the compass is connected to. Apparently there is an issue that INEOS is aware of and a fix is in progress. Thanks for commenting!

So much bias here. Does he even read about what bias is? lol. 5+ issues at essentially 0 miles. No biggie. It’ll be great for the next 100k miles! 🎉 right? Lmao
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. All points of view are welcome and of course, I have bias or I wouldn't have taken the gamble on the Grenadier. Your point on essentially 0 miles is spot on, but I had a Range Rover that lasted 24 miles before it had to be bought back by the dealer, so my video is mainly to say it as I see it from day one - with few miles on the clock. I'm not the type to put 100K miles on a car, but I do hang onto the ones that I like - so let's see if my 'like" for the Grenadier lasts long term...

I drove one, and it feels like a knock-off from the get go. The amount of pretentiousness in the console marks it as a Chelsea Tractor.

Thanks for your comment. I see your point of view, but am thinking that it's a few years before it will be refined enough to be popular with the Chelsea Tractor crowd - it drives more like a truck than a modern Landie.

@@MyAutomobileObsession To me it felt like my 1991 300 Tdi HCPU. much lighter brakes and clutch, but certainly 20 years behind the competition. And the price point is pants, to me it's for the crowd that can afford to have 4 other cars to actually use.

I’m debating on ordering a 2025 Grenadier or picking up a 2024 model. My local dealer has 22 to choose from. The Grenadier was designed for a 25-year life span. It uses the bulletproof BMW B58 inline 6 engine paired to the bulletproof ZF transmission. Look at the undercarriage and you will find HD driveline components befitting a 3/4 - 1 ton pickup truck. The Grenadier uses HD Carraro tractor axles.
@MyAutomobileObsession
@MyAutomobileObsession 5 күн бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I believe the 2025 will be substantially similar to the 2024 - perhaps a few more kinks worked out, but no major changes for at least another year. The 2024 will likely cost you less (INEOS just took a price increase that will impact 2025, not sure about 2024's), but as you mentioned this is a long term buy, so don't take one off the lot unless it has everything on it that you desire (color/options). The wait isn't going to be as bad as for those waiting for the original batch, and it will give you some time to plan and dream of all the things you will do with it once it arrives. I don't see you going wrong with either. Good Luck!
