Crime. Social justice. Impact. "48 Hours" investigates the most intriguing crime and justice cases that touch on all areas of the human experience including greed and passion. As a cop who’s responded to a ton of similar calls - almost never is there much information other than someone called and they heard a gun shot in this 3 block general area. And it was at night and like they said it was Halloween and there were decorations in the yard so likely easy to miss. The neighbors were probably so familiar with the yards and those decorations they immediately noticed when there was something out of place. It’s amazing how “easy” things seem to people who have never done it and are just watching it on a video.
@kenyattaclay7666
@kenyattaclay7666 Жыл бұрын
@@theylied1776 No I don't think you do understand. First the neighbor didn't live next door, he lived down the street; if you go back to 4:45 in the video you will hear him say "just down the road." Second, as someone who has heard gunshots or even fireworks that can be mistaken as gunshots you don't always know exactly where they are coming from. There was another neighbor who said she thought the shots were coming from a hunting area that was even further away so your assertion that the police should've found the body right away when the people calling it in didn't exactly know where they were coming from is just false.
@milano888
@milano888 Жыл бұрын
I think others are low-key, unconsciously gaslighting your comment. I agree with you that the body was right there within direct eye view; it’s not hard to notice and check it. The police officers were incompetent; they probably didn’t even go beyond what they thought was a sufficient search and didn't check yards or above street level it’s so obvious.

The sister, Tina, is one of the most manipulative people I've seen. She says Fred had the upper hand persuading the court for custody of the children because he was "a Ph.D. professor in persuasive communications," completely ignoring the fact that her sister was a freaking attorney whose job was ALSO to use persuasive communications. It shows me that she "cherry-picks" and twists information to suit her narrative.

Narcissism has a genetic component, and an environmental one. It wouldn’t be surprising to find siblings who share the trait. They are extremely manipulative, controlling, deceitful, abusive, cold hearted, delusional, and are most often without empathy. They feel NO GUILT, they justify ANYTHING they do. They aren’t entirely human, as they lack humanity, other than when they are trying to “manage their facade”. So many are filled with evil intentions, towards anyone who challenge them & their superiority/authority. I’ve had 53+ years of close up study. They don’t choose to be monsters, it’s something they are born to, but they are incredibly destructive.

What I find so sad about so many separation or divorce cases is the lack of ability from both adults to reach an amicable solution between them, putting their kids first. Someone always has to win! If there's one thing I'm proud of in my life, it's the way my ex husband and I have handled our separation. Neither of us have custody. When my 7 year old son wants to see his Dad, or his Dad wants to see his son, it happens...because I do not own my son. I WANT him to have his Dad and I want his Dad to have his son. I want my son to have me. Sometimes my ex husband rings up on a Saturday when my son is due home and says 'erm..he'd like to stay again tonight is that ok?' You know what, YES it is! - because if that makes my son and his Dad happy, then that makes me happy! Yes, I miss my son when he stays an extra night or two....so I call him, and I chat to him and I tell him to have a wonderful time and I can't wait to see him. When he returns, he is loved as much. It really does make my blood boil that these supposed 'adults' and 'parents' are more concerned with winning the battle and subsequently the war, rather than putting the happiness of their kids first! Oh...and the sister so obviously did it. EDIT: I've seen part 2...SPOILER ALERT.... I was wrong about the sister LOL!

I cannot begin to tell you how refreshing it is to hear a parent express your attitude. As a mental health professional, the selfishness, complete disregard for children’s welfare and the psychological damage I have witnessed all too often is nothing short of horrific. It is one of the things that renders divorce in this country far more traumatic than it needs to be. It is the reason it figures so routinely in the histories of criminal offenders and other kinds of terribly troubled people. You give me encouragement about what CAN be…thank you!

@AMunoz-rh9cz
@AMunoz-rh9cz 11 ай бұрын
@@nellyb2434 It’s my pleasure! As for the mystery of the “why”…there are at least four factors that contribute to this problem that I have observed so far that I would love to hear your feedback on it if you care to offer it are: 1) The US divorce process in particular (not sure about how other societies are working to improve this) is constructed as adversarial i.e. you are automatically enemies going through the divorce process rather than a demand by our system that are and will remain a family unit forever who must approach divorce as a team problem to be solved. Mediation has been steadily encouraged but has not entirely replaced “ the contest” system. 2) A great many adults did not receive adequate love as children and therefore do not know how to fully love as result. 3) If they don’t get treatment for it, many adults repeat or play out childhood trauma of all kinds, including unhealthy patterns that their parents had in their own marriage and 4) The bottom line that you don’t own your children as property-which you so eloquently pointed out-I doubt is understood by most adults. So many bad decisions are made about children’s welfare due to an inability to understand this. Your son is very lucky to have you!😊

So strange how there is piles and piles of information about Piper missing in part 1 - maybe it will be covered in part 2 because it’s pretty obvious Piper was crazy for a long long long time before she and or her sister killed him. They make it look like they just got divorced and with his communication skills he got custody. She was totally nuts
@EstbXCIII

Exactly.. that part made me laugh. They painted in as an uphill battle due to him being some debate wizz when in reality women receive custody like 85% of the time PLUS she studied law! If they awarded the father the kids then there had to be ALOT wrong with her! Women tend to assassinate character in order to get there way in court when they're losing.

Tina decided to eliminate him. Tina is clearly a NARCISIST. She wanted to be the center of attentions, keep people were she desires them to be and she wanted her sister to have her way. DId you noticed how she criticised Fred saying her sister did EVERYTHING a FATHER should do? As if: he didn't do them. Every word that comes out of this woman's mouth when she criticises him is as if she was talking about HERSELF. A pure 100% nar.

I understand what you're saying as far as the importance of the kids but not sure I myself would pick working at a minimum wage job over a high paying corporate job. Especially when the court had already given full custody to the ex husband and she was ordered to pay child support of almost $1,000/month. Walmart wages would not fund that and meet the cost of a decent living.
