After two years of ownership, it's time for me to say goodbye to my 2020 Triumph Street Triple 765RS. I'll be collecting my brand new 2022 BMW S1000R soon, so it's time to let go of my beloved Street Triple. Before I sell it, I want to share my ownership experience over the past two years and answer some of the questions I often get asked on KZfaq and Instagram. If you're considering purchasing a 2020 Triumph Street Triple 765RS or just want to know more about this motorcycle, be sure to check out this video.

It might not look it but it was like 6 degrees and I was absolutely freezing shooting this!! Anyhow I have to say I am ever so sorry to be putting this bike up for sale but motorcycle life means we can never just own one bike!! I want to say I appreciate all your love of my Street Triple over the past two years and hoping you can join me on my next love affair a 2022 BMW S1000R which I collect very soon! Yes.

Happy to hear your thoughts on the RS during your two year journey. I have booked my 2022 RS in Mumbai, India on 2nd Feb, impatiently awaiting delivery. Cheers

Thank you for the insights! I was able to get one recently and now beginning my love affair with this bike. The cost of ownership really helped too as it set a bit of what to expect down the road. As it is my dream bike, I planning on having it for quite a long time to come. Cheers on your new adventure with the S1!

I own a Striple 675R (2014) I love it. I commented when you had the lovely full exhaust system and the fact that its a bit of a problem here in Spain because of Homologation. I have since fitted an Italian Exan 'slip on' that has a nice 'burble' on tick over but growls when giving it a bit o' wellie. When time for the ITV its easy to revert to the original for an hour or two. The fact is I did change the air filter to a K&N, that, combined with the new exhaust has given the bike a better throttle response. I don't suppose it is any quicker but acceleration feels smooth and linear.... I've never had any trouble with the bike at all, save the battery dying, soon remedied with a new one...Triumph sure got it right when they designed the Striple

Thanks for the informative video. Here in my city in India this bike sells like hot cakes and is a phenomenal bike. I got my 2022 RS recently with a AMC package which covers 3 years of service for the bike. Have done the first service and paid nothing. You also get 2 free oil top ups and chain clean/lube plus bike wash/polish in a year and then theres 10% off merchandise. So its a great package for Rs. 30,000. As for the pillion i agree with you as my wife wasnt very comfortable and neither was i taking her weight on me every time i braked. Haha. The suspension was on Road initially (as with all new bikes) and i kept it until the first service but on indian roads its not forgiving as on longer rides my back and knee was hurting. BUT, setting the front and rear now to ‘Comfort’ riding alone is awesome comfy and i even went off road riding it comfortably and acing it 😉 I’ll keep it for atleast 2-3 years as its just brilliant!

I'm buying my 04 FZ1 back from a friend for a steal after a few yr hiatus from riding and I'm already wondering what the trade in would be on one of these, so I understand the struggle. This is a great overview of real world cost of ownership, which I didn't think was too bad for 2 yrs with a lot of that being tires. There is just something about a Triumph that kickstarts that "I must have it" feeling like no other bike. Even the bug eye headlights are starting to grow on me (it definitely looks like its growing on the bike, lol). To quote the great philosopher Wayne Campbell ."It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine".

Using the Pirelli Rosso Corsa 2 now and they are lasting super long! So far all I've done is out in fuel and do the annual service. Very reliable and fun! Cheers!

I have mine for 6 month now. The gearbox won't shift down allway. You have to play with clutch to get to neutral. The quickshifter is not as smooth as for example the one of a BMW S1000XR or GSX-R 1000.But the rest is simply fantastic.

I am on the fence to replace my current 2015 Striple with a new 765 or buy another Brutale. If cost is a factor then Triumph wins hands down, but add the fun factor and well..... Traded my MK1 Street triple RS in for a Tiger 900 Rally Pro, don’t like the looks as much as the old bike and it’s 25bhp down on the RS but it’s got way more mid range and is faster in the twisties. Like the 765 RS I keep up with 1ltr adventure bikes and sports bike owners have trouble getting away from me 😜. Wind protection is good it comes as standard with heated rider and pillion seats and grips, the hand guards provide protection from wind chill and it’s very pillion friendly with the Triumph connect allowing you both to communicate on the move and listen to music. Take your girlfriend with you on a test ride, I’d be interested to see what you both think.

I have the exact same bike only it is matte black with the green accents (more on this later). I haven't had any of the issues you encountered whatsoever except losing that stupid key you adjust the forks with. I've read about it before buying the bike and I was keen on letting the previous owner check for the key. Sure enough it was there, lost it shortly after buying the bike. It's infuriating because you can't really adjust the forks without the tool as the handle bar is in the way. It costs like 10€ from Triumph but I had to wait almost three weeks for it. Brake pad recall was done by the previous owner although brakes still squeak when cold, I don't really mind tho. One front brake disc was bent because the previous owner decided that it was a good idea to load the bike into a van and strap it down by one of it's discs, yes, people are stupid, who would have thought? That was a fun 220€ spent for a fancy wall clock that hangs in my garage reminding me of other's stupidity and to check for it before buying something. Matte black paint does look good when clean but does really commence a lot of looking after. It shows every blemish and every speck of dust or dirt. Cleaning the bike is now a necessary habit once a week. The paint started to shine out where you hold your knees because of more aggressive riding so I recommend tank pads, especially for any matte black paint. I've had no cut outs when coasting or when coming to a stop and pulling in the clutch, although it had it's last software update sometime in September last year when I went in for it's 1 year service. I'm at around 9500ish miles as of the time of posting and this is, bar none, the best bike I've ridden, ever. I plan to keep mine at least for 2022 and do the services myself after the factory warranty expires. It had three oil changes in the approximately 9500 miles it has done. Oil and filers are really cheap insurance, especially if you ride your bike hard or track it, and please, if someone reading this owns this exact bike, or any Street Triple for that matter, do a track day, or ten, you will learn more on the track in one session than in a whole season riding on the streets. Ride safe people! 🤙

@@Alex-HD it has to be proven that the fault was a result of the slip-on. If your gearbox went that isn't because of the slip-on. @@stevebidmead5655 My 765 would have been around 145bhp. There are a handful of 2020 models or later putting down 130 at the wheel. However the limited edition moto2 765 produces even more with full system and tune

owell elecronics n 'puters. ol hand at it told me once... they can last 100years never a problem, or crap out whenever they like. its electrics. magic of magnets an copper, an micro-chips. look at your phone/tablet/desktop. lol, right?. they have to give a guarantee/warranty of some sort, but honestly, its a crap shoot on your (and theirs) luck for dependability and lifespan. been true ime. here in the US, long straight multi-lane freeways, no, way we run this wont run with even stock liter bikes, and noone is "stock". they going 170-180+ on a run thru the gears on a hiway pull. this wont do that. zx-10, gsxr 1k, nope. noway. sorry. on my (140BHp) naked Kawy 1000, Im with them till maybe 2nd gear (barely!), then they gone!. dont believe me?. watch Zack on the track with a new zx-10, or the crazy kids in austin on the highway, and at night too!. crazy fast.
