What I really like of you merch is that it isn't immediately obvious that it is from Twoset. I hate it when somewhere the name of someone is written in the biggest letters. That's boring. It's like an insider and only people who watch you can recognize this (example the white 40 hours clock hoodie, no insignia of twoset). Also you merch is a really cool musician orientated design.

I remember last year at the SSO Fellows workshop there was a Q&A session with the fellows, the typical 'how many hours do you practice?' and 'do you get nervous when you perform?' were asked. Almost all of us there for the workshop responded with Ling Ling and 40 hours jokes, it was the most amazing thing! You have truly created such an amazing community :D

I actually ordered some TwoSet Apparel merch 1-2 months ago! It came on April 7th, the day my concert was supposed to be. I was actually talking to my band teacher when it came to my door! Hello everyone, I wanted to give my two cents because this video more than ever, when Brett and Eddy were discussing the apparel it was the moment my thoughts triggered. I am student of ballroom dancing and I am aiming to do it competitively as soon as this whole situation which we all are sharing will pass. Even more so, I love sharing my passion and love for music and dancing through teaching what I learned to any student present at the dance studio I am attending. I believe what most of the time Brett and Eddy are talking about does not only apply to musicians but to any person that expresses using music as a medium. It is motivating to watch Brett and Eddy talk passionately about what they love doing and I am hoping to also put a small spotlight on ballroom dancing as well, a type of dancing that I believe should also be treasured the same way classical music is. Thank you for reading ! P.S. Brett and Eddy if you are reading this, thank you for teaching me more about music and for opening the curtain to a world I would not have understood otherwise.

The second movement of Vivaldi's Winter is my favourite, because it invokes the feeling of being warm indoors while the snow is falling outside. The pizzicatos are cold and magical, the swells of the bass are warm, and the trills of the violins are windy.

I want to mention the "Winterreise" by Schubert. Obviously the connection to Winter and snow is even bigger when you understand german - but even if you dont you can feel it in so many ways. There is no other composer who showed such a big understanding of the winter

Not a musician, but I had one semester when my professor asked us to spontaneously paint the four seasons but as abstract art. So it was more of a play with colors, and we're not allowed to draw leaves and landscapes. So I put on all of Vivaldi's Four Seasons to help me imagine the colors and emotions in the paintings. It shows how music really helps paint an image, literally hahaha!

You’re totally right, In high school our orchestra and chamber choir would win gold at all our competitions and would even perform with universities but we got no respect (despite the fact that the choir had only 8 students competing against choirs of 100 students or more at a challenging level). My Senior project was preparing and performing the flower duet from Lakme and my peers didn’t understand or appreciate the effort it took the learn and perform that piece as a high school student. Wow! I'm from Austria and grew up in the alps, doing a ton of skiing in winter but I'd never heard the piece by Strauss. Yet even the first few notes brought tears to my eyes, he captured the feeling of the view on snowcapped mountains on a clear day perfectly.

When I was in high school, (as a singer), we did this interesting experimental piece called "Snowforms", which was just us singing various Inuktitut words for different kinds of snow, in ways that the sounds and harmonies would evoke the kind of snowfall of the words. It was really cool.

Re: contrasting representations of winter: Geographic differences in their homelands is represented in their interpretations. The northern/inland composers generally have a more peaceful representation of winter as they experienced more still, snow-covered landscapes. Vivaldi's harsh season is representative of the rain/sleet that is more typical for southern, coastal cities like Venice.

Wow this was such great video!!! I particularly liked Siblius Violin Concerto. I went and listened to the full one for the first time now and I am in love. It is so lovely to hear what different 'types' of cold sound like, a chilly story tole by different people. You have made me dust off my old music books and reorganized my room so that I can start playing music again. So happy to now be part of the Ling Ling 40 hour practice group.
