omg so i did something similar to the guy (5:32), today actually. I went to this competition hosted by my music school, if you get a place on the program, you get 40€ off your classes. I walked in and the judges were sitting in a half circle and usually you bow when coming in and performing, instead i did this little silly wave with both hands and smiled, the judges smiled back and the vibe was much more chill. After that i proceeded to play josef haydn sonata no.36 in d major, andover of the judges interrupted me and told me to move on with the pieces and play the next one since i was running out of time, i could’ve kissed him since we were coming up to a run i usually messed up and if you’re curious, i played the next piece without 1 single mistake
