Fun fact about seeing the french comment about orgasm, it's because a science oriented french youtuber talked about classical music and musical chills. It was said that rachmaninov piano concerto No 2 is the most likely according to a study to give you this kind of chills, which is also called skin orgasm, so that is why a lot of french, seeing the video wanted to check if they would have the phenomenon. Now you know.

I once went to a Kissin concert and I forget exactly what he was playing, but there was this old man sitting a few rows in front of us, drinking out of a paper bag. uh twoset did you know that when you cough hard enough some of your alveoli die inside your lungs So the person coughing their left lung out is actually actively dying #rip
@nowandaround312
@nowandaround312 4 жыл бұрын
Charlotte Wong Do you have a source on that? I'm just curious, I googled it and couldn't find anything which said that alveoli die when coughing hard. However, I did learn that coughing too hard can cause you to rupture blood vessels in your anus and give you a serious hernia. It can also break ribs, but I already knew that since I think I suffered a minor rib fracture during a severe coughing fit when I was younger. I'm not certain, my parents refused to take me to the hospital, they told me it was impossible to break a rib from coughing and instead gave me extra medication. I was in pain for weeks and definitely took more than the safe limit of ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Edit: I'm not sure why I gave you my life story lol

Here's a tip: When the conductor puts his arm with the baton down, then you clap. Usually conductors will still have their baton in the air when they are going on to the next movement. Believe me. One time, the audience started clapping in the middle song in a concert that I was in. We had to stop for a second to turn the page, and they ended up clapping because they thought the song was over. That really bugged me.

Well atleast they are trying to say it right, it's much better than saying Dvorak to me... Pronounciation get's easier when your surname starts with "Ř" (it's more challenging to say when the word actually starts with ř) They are saying way to much of "ž" and not enough "r", it can be learned though, many of my foriegn friends mastered it in very little time. This lady explains it really well, I'd give her A- though, her pronounciation is not perfect, it should sound deeper. /watch?v=6A8XyKDrcxk

I totally agree with the comment that those who cough loudly in a concert should be punished and blacklisted. Alfred Brendel came to my home town every year until he retired and I was always in attendance at his recitals. Before he played, he always told the audience that coughing was not allowed, and the audience duly complied. Most of the audience were in the age range of 50-85, so being old does not exempt people from coughing, Brendel proved conclusively that coughing can be controlled and that there is no need to include a non-solicited vocal accompaniment to the music.

My favourite time someone complained about clapping in between movements was on a recording of Tchaikovsky’s sixth symphony, where it is tradition to applaud in between the third and fourth movements. They thought the audience was “uncultured”, but really it was them.
@Chrisamic
@Chrisamic 2 жыл бұрын
It actually WAS uncultured in 1893, and it still is. The orchestra does NOT want people to applaud after the third movement. It messes up their timing for the quiet start of the fourth movement.
