Twyla, Gertrude, Princess, and Troyánn are each offered boons from Thanara in this, the final scene of Dimension 20's Dungeons and Drag Queens Season 1 (Episode 4: In the Heart of Death). Twyla and Gertrude display beautiful generosity in their heartwarming and selfless wishes.
You can find this series on dropout.tv or I think you can become a member on College Humor's KZfaq channel. I didn't know that second option before today.
This video is a fan compilation / edit, and I am in no way affiliated with Dropout. I embellished some moments with extra editing choices of my own that do not necessarily reflect Dropout's intended direction for their final product. Brennan did bring these queens through emotional wringer, as per Dimension 20 tradition. Jujubee said in the after show of this episode that she recently lost her cat of 15 years and her summon was her way of mourning/tribute to her beloved cat. That's why she became very emotional when Buddy Bear stepped up.

The way Juju whispers "Let's plant it, honey" destroys me every time. She's so earnest, so deeply entrenched in the roleplay, and seeing her take initiative with an item she was never explicitly told she could use for this purpose is inspiring. What a beautiful moment.

Id like to point out, one of the most genuine and beautiful moments of this scene was that this was wholly Jujubee's idea. There's almost been this running joke this series where she asks Brennan what she should say so it sounds like its her idea and then the editors have a fun moment with that- but this was genuinely her idea and it was the key. Good on you, Jujubee!!

When Jujubee burst out crying that really got me, especially after learning in the last Adventuring Party she said Buddy Bear was inspired by her cat that passed away. Really beautiful heart-warming moment

Yes all of this is emotional because it’s beautifully written and told, but another reason for Juju’s emotions is because buddy bear was a game manifestation of her late cat who had past away. Buddy bear giving his life/ soul/ sacrificing himself in a way to restore a whole empire just must have been so poignant for Juju in the sense that her cat too left the world and just have made her life so much better…

Apparently she also wanted to plant a garden for her cat as a sort of memorial/grave, and Brennan took the manifestation of her cat, and made him the heart of a tree so grand it spread throughout the entire underworld and brought life to the dead. That is an incredibly poignant thing to do accidentally.

I was definitely having SOME feels when Juju asked to lift Bob's curse. But as soon as he brought up Buddy Bear the tears really got going. This was such a genuinely pleasurable viewing experience watching Juju go from basically the comic relief to the savior of the fae, the underworld, and her friends without even needing to use the Ring of Invisibility.

With all the hilarious chaos Jujubee was doing in the first three episodes 😂, she came in clutch and absolutely mvped the last episode, not only in the fight but in the story narrative. And just to clarify to everybody yes Alaska, Monet & Bob did a great job in the last battle and they provided incredible narrative, I just don’t want someone to get butt hurt cause I didn’t give their fave attention and cause arguments within comments section.

This season was so much like ACOC emotion-wise: that breakdown from Juju and from Bob wrecked me. During the BTS Adventuring Party, Juju goes into detail as to why she was so emotional and it was such a touching story. This is why both D20, Dropout, and D&D are so amazing: it's more than just dice rolling and character stats. There's such a deep connection you forge with your party and the amazing stories you never thought you'd be telling. This is why I'll forever love Dropout, D20, an D&D. Go get a sub. It's SO worth it!!! The D20 series alone is more than worth the price of admission.

@@talesgabriel5389I think the way it was originally supposed to go was that the shopkeep gave her something that can hold her curse if she gets it removed by someone else since he wasn't strong enough to do it. It was just her added payment for either the carpet or soul or some such (can't remember that part). Since the vial absorbed a curse it poofed back to him automatically even though it wasn't Gertrude's. And since he's still not strong enough to remove it and Thanara herself didn't, they have to find another way

@@talesgabriel5389 the goal was less to get him the curse and more to get it off Gertrude. She mentioned that immortality is a burden to her, so them treating it as a curse that needs removing makes sense.

Tbh Bob for some reason thought that giving the vial was this big thing, but the vial really doesn't do anything lol, it just instead of liberating the curse in the air, it put it in a vial and it goes to the jackal, but Brennan still run with it, and improvised, he is amazing

If someone is willing to fully to commit to their character, and really empathize and understand with them, there just comes this moment after hours of play where you suddenly realize you are super invested and you do care about what happens to them. my cat died a month before this aired. god i was grieving so tremendously hard-she was 4 and it was a horrible, quick struggle of cancer. i remember sobbing along with jujubee and just wishing we could meet and mourn together

Initially I thought Thanara was going to get sucked up in the vial 'cause I interpreted Nyruth's telling that when the vial is pulled out and brought upon near the entity who cursed Gertie, it will immediately suck up said entity...With Thanara being the one who cursed/blessed Gertie with that...hmm

I was equally confused about this too. The way I rationalized it in my head is that Twyla wished specifically for help to end the curse. Technically, the jackal offered that to them.

when twyla made her wish for gertrude, bob interrupted and said that gertrude wishes for goddesse's freedom instead as signified by giving the vial the jackal gave her. the goddess even says that gertrude deserves something more than a carpet cause the vial now contains a more valuable goddess curse. so im presuming the goddess broke her curse first before she was able to grant twylas wish.

So does that mean the jackal thinks he has an immortality curse but instead it is a curse that makes you the ruler of the underworld for all eternity? Some people might want immortality and use it only to discover - oopsie - you're now queen of the underworld. Which I guess IS immortality in a way. What happens to the new Fae Realm when that happens? Is this even the underworld anymore? Brennan has a lot of fine details to work out.

I think the implication is that there is no more ruler of the underworld now that the all blossom has been planted, so they would just gain immortality.

Well if anything Buddy Bear is now always present as a part of the fey realm. And I believe in the finale of the side show adventuring party Jujubee made it clear that this was a fitting tribute to her cat who recently passed as she wants to plant a garden in her cats honour and now that can happen in the biggest fantastical scale. But I get what you mean, no one ever wants to lose smth that special to them

After all, it's fiction, and it's about what makes us happy. That's why I love it so much! xD

But, I believe in Heaven and seeing them again, and that they're right here with us in everything we say and do. :) I always choose to live in the world I want to live in. @@staceycameron4157exactly. If anything buddy bear can be more like a familiar, non corporeal but summonable and can return to the tree at will as it’s home. In the end it’s good closure. But there’s never any shame in indulging in that French vanilla fantasy if it brings joy. All I know is I fully burst into tears when juju did I adore how enamoured she is with the game you can always see on her face the level of joy and excitement she has just watching Brennan work, thirsty comments not withstanding but forever iconic!
