hello loststylus, 1) no multitrack recording possible at this time. 2) yes, just make sure the hub is self powered (and compatible).

the drive in the thumbnail is a rendering and not a product. (yet?) regarding speeds, higher should be better, but whichever fairly recent drives we've tried has worked. the main thing to not when using hubs, especially with ssd:s, is that they need external power.

Figured it out. Need to format in FAT32 not exFAT or NTFS. Use Partition wizard to delete the original partition then make a new 32gb partition in FAT32. Cant go higher than 32gb per partition (I think). Continue making partitions to fill out your drive.

not sure really. it flips into usb-a as well. we've tested with a lot of different usb-c brands and sizes, usb-a ones with dongle as well as anything through powered hubs, including ssd:s. the one we chose to use was the least branded one. hope this helps you find it if you need to.

You do you, but it makes very little sense in a home studio environment imo. For that kind of money you could fulfill your wildest mixer/interface dreams with Allen & Heath or Tascam stuff. Where the TX-6 really shines is as a portable solution, as there are not many comparably small 12-channel mixers on the market. The 1010 BlueBox is essentially the same thing tho, not much larger and only half the price.

@@20edo I’m sure there are some valid arguments as to why not use the TX-6 as a home mixer / interface, the argument of “you can get _______ for the same amount of money” always eludes me. I can get 4 Ford Mustangs for the same price as a Ferrari Roma. The Ferrari is less practical and will likely break down more often or at the very least require lots of maintenance, but it sure is beautiful to look at and fun to drive. There is always a balance of practicality /aesthetic / sound with audio equipment. If the mixer sucks… that would be one thing. But if it’s great and beautiful, though slightly annoying size-wise…. Well I could live with that. It would be very ugly though to run the audio output or the front to a splitter into my monitors though. I currently have a Mackie VLZ1642 and an Apogee Duet on my desk. I’ve been selling everything off for more compact gear. I’ve grown to love the idea of a small footprint in the home studio and just want to shrink everything. The Bluebox is on my radar, it’s just not as pretty.

@@ryanhursh6322 Well, if price is not a main concern, but aesthetics and size are, then the TX-6 looks like a great option. It does look very satisfying to have such a vast array of functions in a box this small. And I'm sure the audio quality is not worse than say that of the Bluebox. For set-and-forget type of situations that don't require constant adjustments it would probably work quite well in a home studio. However, it does look very fiddly to tweak due to how ridiculously small it is. I feel like it could have been made twice the size with much better ergonomics and connectivity, and still be incredibly small and portable. Also, are some strange design choices that just don't sit right with me. Like the fact that you have to use Teenage Engineering branded cables (10-15€ per cable, not included) for the outputs, as regular 3.5mm cables will simply not fit next to each other. Reminds me of Apple not including power adapters in their 1200$ phones anymore. But again, since you made that comparison with the Mustang versus the less practical Ferrari that requires more maintenance, but is much more satisfying to own/drive, the TX-6 might be the right option for you. It's just not the right thing for me personally, as i feel like too much of my money goes towards the aesthetics, design and exclusivity of the product as opposed to the actual build and audio quality.

If you are a PC user, it is not an option as it does not come with dedicated drivers

@@20edo Agreed, it’s unnecessarily small. I’d also prefer it to be a larger… haven’t heard anyone say otherwise actually. Another inch of width would have made it vastly more comfortable and could accommodate regular 3.5mm cables maybe an audio audio output in the rear so my cables don’t have to run out the front… I hate that. I’m more a set it and forget it kinda guy. It would work well for me but I’m more annoyed by all the cable running out of both the front and rear. Kinda kills the aesthetic. Of course if we’re absolutely garbage the looks wouldn’t matter, but J don’t believe it to be garbage. So far people who haven’t had an issue with the size or the price are quite pleased it seems. It’s not small nor beautiful but in truth a Mackie Mix 8 would more than suit my needs these days and save me a shitload of cash.

@@untml I know it does have USB host functionality. However still without physical TRS I/O, you need adapters that are sometimes larger than the TX-6 😃 If TE can make an adapter that does both MIDI I/O and microsd reader and is small/convenient, I’ll be fine (if they don’t sell it $200 😂). For now it doesn’t address one of my use cases which is to have a tiny audio card that provides audio and MIDI I/O when travelling and wanting to make some music with my iPad. Sorry but at this price, you want it to address the maximum possible use cases 😉

​@@alexandrosroussos send them an email, maybe they will care to add it just for you 🙂 If you want the "smallest and cheapest", you can use this usb/midi cables, cut the 2x 5 pins din's and solder trs's that will go stright to the devices (that are probably much bigger) it will be just like straight cables but without losing other i/o's.

hm... how about: tripod, phone and zoom gesture? might be doable with stuff you already have. at least while waiting for us to figure out what else can be done with the usb-c port. (?) thanks for your feedback.
