The reason why Soobin is the most comfortable is because he’s already met Jessi a few time’s beforehand! He was the MC at MusicBank where he “interviewed” many idols.

soobin is definitely introverted but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be shy, you can tell when he’s around the other members he’s choosing when to use up his social energy whilst the other extroverts gain their energy from the socialisation! soobin is a great social navigator!

Yeah, a lot of idols do get pigeonholed into roles and it’s honestly unfortunate. Kai has briefly mentioned his role as “the cute maknae” within TXT saying, “It (acting cute) does feel like part of the job sometimes, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like doing it.” Even Beomgyu has mentioned his role of mood maker and how at one point he got sick of it, he was going through a rough time and he felt it didn’t fit him anymore so he stopped introducing himself with it. TXT, to me, don’t seem like the type of people to put up with too much stuff. If they don’t like it, they won’t put up with it. They’re some of the most real, genuine idols I have personally come across.

I feel like people have the wrong impression of introverts. The stereotype is that they're shy or something but that's really not it. Not all introverts are afraid of having attention. If they're around the people they're comfortable with, they can be just as outgoing as extroverts. It all depends on the environment for us. The main difference is that we just have a very small social battery so once it's used up, we want alone time to relax and recharge where extroverts are charged because of their interactions with others.

A note on Soobins leadership skills; it's definitely not something he was born with but rather something he had to learn. Soobin used to be much more shy and introverted, which is why he was suprised when the other's chose him as the leather, but he's grown into his role. Now he's much more comfortable with himself and able to let his warm personality and charisma shine through PS your explanations of his communication skills make me appreciate him even more in a deeper way (he's my bias)

Jessi is american and debuted in Korea at age 15! Her korean still isn't perfect and a lot of korean celebs seem to think less of her bc of it. however, she is really hitting it off with the younger generation. People really are taken aback by her forward sense of humor, but some are realizing her charm. thanks for the videos as always!

I think I read somewhere that everyone except for Taehyun applied for the leadership role, he said because he knew he'd be strict as a leader. However, despite Soobin being introverted at first, he's an incredible listener and is great at being the bridge between the group and the company. He's not always the most vocal, but his leadership skills definitely rise when he's called and needed.

Soobin is very comfortable with Jessi because he is a host for a show that she appears on frequently. Also, the interview was held at TXT’s agency (in their dance practice room). So really everything was perfectly aligned for Soobin to feel most comfortable.

Soobin loooves being on camera but once it's off, he shuts down lol people think he's an introvert because he says so himself! He said he didn't think he could be an idol because he doesn't like to be around people, he has expressed many times he doesn't like leaving his house and that he used to lose his voice after being an MC in Music Bank because he generally does not speak much. Still, he's sooo charming, everyone he interviews speaks so highly of him

Hueningkai's true side is still quite mysterious for me. Maybe that's why I feel so curious about him. Most of the time I feel he might be forgotten by ppl but no, all his hyungs are so interested in him when he talks. They never ignore him even he talks so softly that nearly can't be heard.

kai is actually one of the more mysterious members when u really look into it. taehyun said in a birthday message that he’d continue to wait for kai for express his true thoughts and emotions to him, and that he wouldn’t judge him for it. soobin also mentioned that it took a lot of effort to get close to him bc hes pretty closed off and keeps a lot of his thoughts and opinions to himself. i don’t have a doubt in my mind that hyuka is a naturally cute guy but i also wonder if he ever gets tired of the image. interesting how u picked up on that. so happy u did this reaction! i hope u do more txt vids in the future!!

Jessi's show is very real! She always does her best to make her guests feel comfortable and to show a genuine side of them to the audience. She's very honest and real herself so it matches well! She's interviewed lots of other idols and singers, and actors too. Some people get kind of culture shocked by her because of her natural out-there personality. But this interview was so good because I felt TXT are fun guys from this with the way they were able to have fun with her.

Although Hueningkai likes to show this cute side of him a lot, its because it's something that he usually does. I can see that he himself wants to show that side of him a lot and he likes doing it. However, he's proven himself to be emotionally strong in some situations as well. And he's someone who works so well despite of the pressure. I still remember him doing the speech during their first rookie award while the rest of the members were in tears. And him understanding and considering his member's opinions. When Beomgyu got so strict on him one time coz he doesn't want the members to mess up the lines during their show, Hueningkai didn't get mad at him and just memorized his lines and understood him. Aside from that he wants his members to know that they can rely on him whenever they have a hard time and maybe this is why he likes showing his bright and cheerful side coz he wants them to be happy. But it's not like he hasn't had any struggles at all tho. He's had a hard time during their trainee days. Soobin said in one vlive with Hueningkai that having a mindset like him in this industry is a gem(something like that) coz he's the type of person to handle tough situations and giving it a more positive understanding. Idk but if this is the side of him that I'd see most of the time and minus the cute or bubbly side I'd probably be intimidated. It would maybe feel distant as well since that cheerful side gives me comfortable vibes from him

Yeonjun has his duality, he can be shy and also way too confident, but he definitely is very aware of what he is doing. I have seen some of his videos where he inspires himself saying things like "it's me I can do it" and " if it's impossible make it possible" I guess that's how he proved himself as bighit's legendary trainee and 4th gen it boy. I would love to see your reaction on his solo interviews too, also Soobin's MC-ing videos.

This interview is one of their interviews that they seem really comfortable and can express their personality really well

If Soobin is around people who make him comfortable he can be as loud and outgoing as the other members and he gets along REALLY WELL with Jessi, they haven't met that many times or anything but you can easily see how both have a soft spot for the other, it was one of the most unexpected but satisfying interactions to see this year tbh

You mentioned that its surprising Soobin is the leader, with how quiet he is. And I never really noticed before you mentioned it, but often the leaders are quiet compared to the other group members. They seem to be the more observing types, who know when its time to step in and take back the control.

Soobin has definitely improved his communication since being the emcee for Music Bank. It’s like he’s refined the lines between listening, performing, laughing hysterically, and reading a script. He met different idols every show and really shone when he interacted with them. He’s become a favorite in the eyes of many k-pop fans.

Like everyone mentioned soobin has met jessi multiple before while he was an mc for a year. But he also specifically mentioned that jessi helped him gained some confidence in himself each time they met so I definitely think that’s why he was so comfortable in this interview. I agree with you that soobin is the quietest member so it’s surprising at first that he’s the leader. But once you get an understanding of his personality it’s difficult to picture anyone else in his position.

They're veterans of the industry but I'd love to see you analyse Super Junior. Known entertainers, some of them have HUGE personalities while others are quite reserved. 15+ years together though so they have great chemistry (and are HILARIOUS!)

Kai is also the cute guy cause he owns so many stuffed animals and voluntarily does cute stuff w/ out being forced.

Jessi is very well-known for being reallt sassy and funny, and also for Soobin, he met Jessi before twice while he was the MC for a music show. He interviewed lots of idols, but he and the other MC, Arin, grew a lot closer to Jessi, and Jessi literally acted like she wanted to adopt them as her child.

Soobin being the MC of music back has really helped him, he is WAY more confident now. And I am so happy for him!

I agree with what you say about Kai and being cute. It's an image you can get trapped in. I don't think it's forced on him but it's also like a shield for someone who is not 100% confident or comfortable with showing their real selves to millions of strangers

MOA know that the members of Tomorrow X Together are multi-talented. For example, although Huening Kai is known as the "cute maknae' (they all do aegyo), he is also accepted as the musical genius of the group (he plays numerous instruments since childhood) and speaks several languages. He's also jokingly called their Hawaiian Chef. So, I wouldn't pigeon-hole any of the members.

Soobin and Jessie have history on Music Bank; she's promoted her music a few times during his stint as co-MC and they have the best interviews on the show. Soobin credits her for drawing him out of his shell and helping to make him better at his job.

Soobin is the only introvert in TXT. The rest of them are all extroverts.

About Soobin being comfortable in his own skin, i agree! It seems like he is getting more comfortable and confident. Btw, introversion and extraversion doesn't neccesairly have to do anything with social skills. It is more about cognition than about sociability and behaviour. Plenty of introverts are fairly comfortable in social situations, and vice versa for extroverts. It has to do with how you charge your energy and spend most of time: is it through some external stimuli or alone, in your own head etc. Just wanted to put it out there. Jessi’s Showterview is always a good show to watch. She makes all her guest have a fun time and deeply cares for all of them.

one more thing to add to Soobin as the leader that i didn’t notice while browsing through the comments: in most kpop groups, and hybe groups specifically, the leader is not necessarily a decision maker or someone whose word matters more than the others’, but more like someone who supports the rest of the group, especially mentally, and monitors their well being and so on. that’s why i feel that people who are very good active listeners like Soobin are usually well suited for the role :)

The thing with Hueningkai is that he's naturally cute, and that's something everyone notice it. There're many videos about them where they're like blogging and Hueningkai likes to do cute things or talk in a cute way, so being like that is part of him. The bad thing is like you said Hueningkai sometimes is just known for being cute even though he's so good at singing and dancing :/

Yes! When it comes to Soobin (especially with the other members) you can tell he’s truly and introvert among extroverts. Something the members always said/say about him is that he’s a really good listener and someone anyone could easily and comfortably talk to whenever. They always joke with each other and pretend not to be interested and it’s so funny but you can tell they really truly care for each other that’s why I love them. They are always aware of boundaries and when the right time is for everything. You can just feel the love beaming from their atmosphere I love it!❤️❤️❤️

Soobin has said before that whenever he interviewed jessi it was always more comfortable than other interviews where it would be more awkward. also beomgyu is usually the most chaotic and goofy one in the group so he might have just been a bit shy around jessi in the interview

What do you mean you don't get the cuteness? The cuteness brings happiness to everyone! Whenever I see someone do cute stuff, my stomach feels bubbly and without me realising, I'm smiling! It loosen a stiff atmosphere.

I think you can really see Soobin growing in confidence if you compare him to older interviews. He is introverted and a bit shy, but very open with fans and with people he's close with. Being the MC on Music Bank for over a year did wonders for his interview skills and overall comfort with being on camera. He's always been a good performer, but on camera when it wasn't specifically a performance he could sometimes take a back seat to the others and allow them to take the lead a bit. He has blossomed since Music Bank and it really shows. He knows Jessi more than the others so he was most comfortable to begin with here, but he's more confident in general now too. This is a great introduction to Jessi too. She's the most unapologetically authentic idol I think I've seen. She grew up in America until she went to Korea as a teen and she's been an idol for a long time, so she's been around to know how the industry works and how they treat their idols, and has never tried to fit the mould of a kpop idol. She's incredibly genuine and her interviews with Korean celebrities are amazing to watch. She's amazing at bringing them out of their shells (especially idols who usually have to fit the perfect idol image) and is one of few hosts that seems to get a real interaction with the guest. If you wanted to see more of TXT in a variety show format it might be an idea to watch their most recent Weekly Idol appearance.

4:50 I agree with you. The cutesy stuff that idols sometimes do is called “aegyo” in romanized Korean. It’s the act of acting cute by doing certain gestures or speaking in a baby voice. As a foreigner it feels pretty alien. Idols only do that for the fans, from what I have noticed. It’s both a bit of a cultural thing and a type of fan service.

I think Soobin seems a lot more comfortable here because not only is it being filmed in a space he's familiar with, surrounded by his members, but also at this point he's met Jessi a few times and grown closer to her (and probably understands her sense of humour/personality more.) Point at timestamp 10:51 While it can be pressuring to be classified as the "cutie" of the group, I don't think most groups play into it too much. For one, Hueningkai is the youngest member and quite young for his age in the entertainment industry. Going with the Korean culture, the "maknaes" are usually doted on and taken care of most of the time. Besides Huening is also inherently adorable (if his ever growing plush toy collection isn't an indicator already 😅). At this point, we're just gonna enjoy his cutesy nature for now, because if there's anything puberty has taught us so far; Hueningkai all grown is going to hit people like a ton of bricks. ( Btw, I called it first 😁)

If you don't want to react to another Interview I recommend ToDo. It is similar to Bts Run, just for Txt. They are really comfortable in them.

This just made me fall dor Jessi. To be able to bring out the best, the "realness" of everyone like she does requires a lot of intelligence, it's not something anyone can do so naturally. She's truly amazing. IU has now replaced her as the MC, but I feel like it just isn't really the same anymore. She's very sweet and fun too, but because she's kind of a legend there people feel more awkward and have a hard time really opening up and not getting flustered

Soobin is the type of person who doesn't talk a lot with people he just met or is uncomfortable around- he's shy that way. He's been getting better at it due to his role as MC for Music Bank (which, unfortunately, has ended now). He will still talk and such around other people because he's the leader and the others are with him, so there is a semblance of comfort, but he usually lets the others do more of the talking since they tend to talk more anyways and are more comfortable in unfamiliar social situations. During his time as MC for Music Bank, he interviewed Jessi a lot and spent time with her practicing backstage (which is where a lot of iconic idol friendships have started), and thus became comfortable and friendly with her, hence why he is much more comfortable here. I also want to point out that Jessi is a very down-to-earth person. She is brutally honest, as you saw, and doesn't fit the idol ideal of staying polite and humble- she will brag and make dirty jokes as much as she wants (which is a good thing, because we love her for it and it doesn't happen very often, so it's refreshing)- and as such, tends to make people feel more comfortable. Instead of it feeling like a scripted interview with an uninterested host and boring questions, Jessi tends to throw curveballs and jokes in there and is genuinely interested. You can even hear her staff- cameramen, directors, other coordinators and such, laughing at them from behind the camera. It's a warm and comfortable environment that feels safe and fun. Even if some idols are more comfortable with the scripted type of interviews (which I can totally understand, I have a control problem where if I don't have much control over a situation, I tend to panic), Jessi is good at recognizing this and tends not to push or tends to direct it back to the script (even if it is a very loose script) to make them feel more comfortable. She's just a good person all around and no matter what the group she's interviewing is, there is always laughter and fun in them, along with a general aura of warmth. It's a nice change-up from most interviews nowadays and really enjoy watching them because they are so genuine and real. Thank you for reacting to them, and I hope you have a good weekend! It's really interesting to hear you talk about their personalities and how that affects their communication skills along with language barriers and body language and how that ties into everything, so please keep making videos! Also, I don't know if you're taking requests, but there's an underrated group called Astro whose dynamics are super fun. It's 6 members and they've only recently become "popular", but one of their members, Eunwoo, is actually more famous than the group (through no fault of his own other than his terrific acting skills) and they're quite a fun and (at times) loud and rambunctious group! The members are MJ (the eldest, main vocal, and a goofball), JinJin (the leader, rapper, second eldest, and a dork), Eunwoo (third eldest, vocalist, and has his own hilarious sense of humor), Moonbin (third youngest, dancer and vocalist, seems serious at first but is actually quite funny), Rocky (second youngest, main dancer and rapper, honestly struck me as the most serious one at first, but he's a little like Taehyun in the sense that he's just a bit more mature... doesn't stop him from being goofy, though), and Sanha (the youngest, vocalist, and a clumsy dork who grew too tall too quickly [which didn't help the clumsiness]).

trust me they are all confident if you ask them "who is the best looking in the group?" no doubt the would all pick themselves 😂

Jessi Showterview is probably my fav interview show because Jessi is bomb.. she's so real and full of energy... but also she's been around for so long that she knows and understands all artists she interviews and is able relate to them,...

Jessie's show is the best, we get to see a lot of different sides from idols cuz some of them get more comfortable around her

I'm watching this after THAT Frost performance was published and I tell you, Huening showed us that he's way more than the "cute guy". He's unexpectedly awesome at dark concepts

when you said that one minute beomgyu is very shy but the next he's mr. sooth, mr. suave, i couldn't agree with you more! he has often been described as someone who lives in 3AM in 3PM at the same time, as in he's either very hyped up and cheerful, or he's completely in his feelings and his energies are directed inwards

10:50 Well, it wasn't serious here but Yeonjun is usually the sexy guy and that doesn't devalue him right? We still know his talents just as we know Taehyun is talented even with his wise and handsome image. Being cute is just another of Kai's characteristics and I don't believe it gives us any different perpective regarding his skills. Yeah there are some instances where a characteristic affects a person's image but i think it is more to the effect of not being taken seriously if they always took on the funny role before, not in the way of ignoring someone's talent bcz they like to act cute🤷🏻‍♂️ I don't particularly understand aegyo either but i dont think it has any impact beyond adding likeability in the eyes of people who do like aegyo.😇

Yeah Huening Kai happily plays his role as the cute maknae. It is something he could easily get pigeon holed in as he grows, but I think that Jungkook from BTS is a good role model on how to maintain that maknae role without being pigeon holed into only the role as a the cute one. As their sunbaeim, and being part of the same label, I think that Huening Kai might be able to get advice from Jungkook if necessary and won't find it difficult to make a similar transition as he ages.

I'm really glad you specifically pointed out the qualities that make Soobin a good leader and I think why he was such a popular MC! He is an introvert and he can definitely be shy in a lot of situations, but he's grown a lot in the past few years and he has a lot of great skills and qualities that allow him to really connect with people and make them feel important. i would argue that assigning main characteristics to each member is also done in western culture… bands (but also solo artists) usually have the cheeky one, the funny one, etc. that’s why when they break out of their image it’s such a big deal. i would go even further and say we even do this within social gatherings, we all have the mom friend, the innocent friend, the smart friend; these don’t necessarily lock us down to that role. the funny friend can get mad, or sad, or bored. it’s just how we present ourselves and are consequently perceived as, at surface level.

Watching this, I would love to see you react to Jessi in interviews. More for other people's reactions. More Koreans are used to her now because she's been around awhile. But her older interviews are hilarious just watching everyone get caught off guard.

I love Jessi! She is so extroverted and direct, and isn't afraid of showing it, but at the same time, she is thoughtful enough not to go too far. She makes the situation enjoyable whatever she does. She's a rapper and her songs are so badass dope like she herself is! It's so cute that TXT is being teased by Jessi and have fun. Looks like most members are more introverted but I can tell they are confident about themselves and have respect toward each other. Great team.

Jessi is Korean American and very forward by Korean standards. So her show is often about how celebs will deal with her shocking personality. She's also dresses sexily so male celebs get awkward around her sometimes. So being on her show is like a challenge, an amusing one.

Haha, I think you misunderstood us in the other video. I know it's late, but I just wanted to share my understanding of Soobin. Soobin is introverted, not shy. He prefers to stick with the people he knows, and avoid most social gatherings. He's definitely become more sociable since MCing at Music Bank, but to this day I think Soobin is the only member out of TXT who doesn't have a firm friend outside of his group. Not in the same way Yeonjun has Wooyoung or Beomgyu has IN. His social circle is small, and he's an absolute gremlin with his friends. You should see their TODO videos! He's the most openly expressive and chaotic member, and I think MOAs agree when I say half of the things he says is questionable. He's comfortable in front of the camera! If he wasn't, he wouldn't have fought so hard to debut. He's definitely not shy, or quiet. He just simply prefers to keep it contained. In award shows and collabs, he doesn't try and retain attention to himself, and that's just the type of guy he is. Introverted, but not shy in the slightest. And you're right! He's the best communicator out of the group. He's quick to assess what information Jessi hasn't got and fills in the gaps seamlessly. If Taehyun is a good speaker, Soobin is a good communicator. He's good at understanding if someone wants to share their opinion or if someone has misunderstood. What I like about his way of speaking is his unfiltered enthusiasm. If he's passionate, it's very clear. He can't hide his true feelings on anything haha- It always shows in his body language or facial expressions. My favorite person to watch in this group is Huening Kai! It's easy to brand him off as the "cutie of the group" but I genuinely think he likes his position. It's not really an act for him, because the members themselves say that Hueningkai is naive and pure. He sleep with plushies, rubs bellies for comfort, cannot stay mad at any of the members and ends up apologizing even if it's not his fault- and you see it transparently in everything he does! He's just genuinely a soft, sweet guy. The cute caricature is painful for me to watch, and the aegyo is definitely not everyone's cup of tea but I'm glad that he's accepted that identity for himself. It definitely isn't an act, and he's admitted that he even enjoys doing aegyo to melt the members! He's just a cutie all around, and when he's not cute, he's an awkward mess haha. He would fit more into not introverted, but majorly shy. He loves being around people, but genuinely doesn't know what to do with himself. Soobin and Hyuka contrast each other well and that's why I think Soobin dotes on him so much. I find it so funny how Soobin treats Hyuka like a toddler... and Hyuka likes it! Beomgyu is definitely more of an actor. He's said so himself! He used to exclusively refer to himself as the mood maker of the team, something he doesn't do anymore because he admits that acting cheery all the time gets burdensome and draining. He's someone who wants validation and attention, but also wants to be himself at the same time, and I think that has actually caused quite a few MOAs to worry he's losing steam. He's not! He's just inherently a sentimental and peaceful guy, who enjoys laughing with his friends. He doesn't mind it when the mood is serious, but it's outweighed by his want for external validation. He likes being the center of attention! And it's a positive thing! He likes putting himself out there and knowing someone's laughing because of him, but internally, he's a quiet boy. It's a conundrum that I think a lot of people experience and it's refreshing to see him beginning to embrace both sides of him. The members are wonderful in how they praise him and entertain him, especially Yeonjun. At the heart of it, Beomgyu is a poetic and peaceful boy with a lot to say and friends to make. It's adorable. I think I'll stop before I go off on a rant about all of them but yeah, thanks for reacting!

Soobin has been a anchor host/MC of Music Bank (a music show in S Korea) so that's why he has adapted and learnt to be comfortable and social despite being an introvert. Of course if he knows the people he is with then he is even more comfortable (he has met Jessi the most over the members as well as he is a MC host and has encountered her alot)

I have to say that Jessi is a great host. She comes from the states, and there around her family and friends she wouldn’t be noticed as much as she is among Korean idols. She’s bold, social and blunt and that often brings out the best in the people around her.
