Ty Mawr Mountain Hut Circles from The Air - Prehistoric Buildings, Cytiau'r Gwyddelod in Holyhead

These are prehistoric hut circles that exist just near the South Stack lighthouse in Holyhead, which are otherwise known as the Ty Mawr Hut Circles, or Cytiau'r Gwyddelod, which means Irishmen's Huts due to the belief that before Roman times, Irish people may have settled here who had crossed the Irish Sea to Wales.
They are dated back to 200BC
The view is astonishing, and further up Holyhead 'Mountain', there's a further settlement, and you can understand why they settled here when you see the view. Intruders would be seen for miles.
It's absolutely beautiful.

Hi there, thanks so much for your comment. Yes this was a site that I only just learned was here, despite me living in the area for a long time. It's very old, and very beautiful, but the contrast between the orange ferns that were dying, and the bright green grass, were what grabbed my attention. Stunning colour. Thanks again!

@@EmmaBailey Yes, the colours look amazing. Looks very vivid and like a painting. A bird's eye view reveals beauty that cannot be seen from the ground. That's why we love drone flying so much, I guess.😉 Enjoy your evening, Emma.

They certainly are curious, and that they survived on a near cliff edge for so long is amazing. There's incredible monuments here because the Romans didn't get much chance to destroy the ancient monuments on the isle of Anglesey before they withdrew from Briton (as it was [I think]). So we're now left with loads of Neolithic structures. Literally buildings and burial mounds that are as old, and sometimes older, than the pyramids.
